Hannah Claire started taking dance this year. She is taking a ballet/tap combo class. She was so excited about it and I have to say that I was too. I am no dancer but I did take dance when I was young and I think it helped me tons with my coordination and sports. Plus it was lots of fun. Things these days are much different than when I took dance. Parents are not allowed to watch class so we really have no clue what is happening behind that door. We ask HC everyday what she learned at dance. We get the same response we get when we ask that question about school, "nothing". Once night in the fall is "observation week" where parents get to come and watch. We were very excited since we have seen nothing thus far for all of the time (and $). Hannah Claire was very excited as were all the little girls.
Showoff! I think she is a natural.
All of the little kiddos were super cute getting warmed up and ready to perform for the room full of parents.
Then it happened, just like Ms. Whitney said it would. Some kids get shy and don't want to dance. That would be our kid. She began by standing there and sucking her arm. What!?! We have no idea what this was about. She then ran over to give us hugs, while she should be dancing.
We finally convinced her to join the action and she did great! They started off with ballet and then followed up with tap.
When the tap performance rolled around Hannah Claire was in the groove of things. Tap is her favorite, I'm pretty sure because of the noise.
We get to observe again in February before the big recital in May. It is so much fun and we were super impressed with all that the kids already know. Ms. Whitney does a great job with them. The recital is going to be so much fun!
