Roll Tide

As many, if not all, know that our family loves football season. It has finally arrived! Shane and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary last Thursday. Before Hannah Claire arrived we decided that this weekend would be our first overnight away from her. We thought 3 months would be a good time to give it a try, plus our anniversary, plus Alabama football. Sounds perfect right? Well, it really was. We had a great time. It was hard to leave my precious little angel with anyone but me. I knew she would be fine with Mawmaw and Papa (Shane's parents) so that made it a little easier. I didn't even cry when I left the house. (I distracted myself with political talk shows discussing the Palin announcement! Very exciting!) I picked Shane up at the Atlanta airport and then we spent Friday and Saturday night in ATL. If you saw the game you know we had a blast. We hope that the rest of the season can be this much fun. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Hannah Claire was not there, but I can't do a post without a picture of her. She is getting ready for her first game next weekend.
Halftime score:
Shane & I at Gameday Saturday morning
*We just watched Gameday on Tivo and saw ourselves. We were sitting under a tree, for some much needed shade and the camera guy came right up to us. Sure enough, there we were. Shaking our shakers right there on ESPN.*
Even the Chick-fil-A cow is a Bama fan. Notice the Bama jersey he has on.
Just before we went into the dome
My Mom and Janice (long time family friend) were there too. We got to see them for a little bit before the game.
Can you feel the excitement? It was electric!
This was us after the win. Notice the crowd. The Bama side is still full of cheering fans. The Clemson side is empty. I love to win! It makes for a great trip.

Week 14

Week 14 was a very sad and exciting week all wrapped up in one.  Daddy had to leave us for training for his new job.  This was week one of three weeks.  We were very sad that he was leaving, but we know it is best for our family in the long run.  Since Daddy was going to be gone we decided to visit Nana and Pappy for a few days.  Hannah Claire and I had a blast.  We spent lots of time shopping with Nana.  She is remodeling her house and we were helping to pick out new items for her house.  We can't wait to see the finished product!!!  We also got to spend time with family.  HC got to see all of her great-uncles and her great-aunt.  We also got to spend time with Granny Sue and Pawpaw John (HC's great-grandparents).  Lots of fun with family and friends.

I was really sad because this was my last week home with Hannah Claire.  Friday was my first day back to work.  Motherhood has so many emotions.  I was very excited to get back to work but I was very sad that my time off with HC was over.  To top things off, HC rolled over for the first time during this week.  It was on Monday (8-11) during a nap.  She went to sleep on her back and I found her on her tummy!!!  I was so proud, even though no one got to see it.  Pappy got to see her do it again on Wednesday night.  I was in the same room, just had my back turned eating dinner, and missed it again.  Figures.  Here are some of the pictures from our fun week.

Time with Daddy before he had to leave us.
My first roll over!

We had a fun day shopping with the girls (HC, Aunt Lorie, & Nana).  We were looking for cool Bama baby stuff but we didn't find any that day.
HC thinks Pappy is hilarious.

She loves to spend some time with Granny Sue.
Pawpaw John is pretty funny too.
Look at my cute outfit.  Thanks Nana, we love it!

3 Month Pictures

We took Hannah Claire to have her official 3 month pictures made. She did fantastic! We tried to plan our appointment around feeding and nap time so we could optimize happiness. Now she is at her peak at about 6:30 am, but Portrait Innovations doesn't open until much later. We went after her afternoon meal and she did great. There was another 3 month old that came and left pretty quickly. The parents had to reschedule because the little fellow was not happy. Tim, the photographer did a great job with Hannah Claire and we got some great pictures. Here are some of our favorites.

3 Months

It is so hard to believe that our little girl is already 3 months old!  She is growing so fast.  We celebrated the 3 month mark on Saturday, the 9th, before Daddy had to leave.  We enjoyed some fun family time and took lots of pictures.  Hannah Claire is such a little ham.

HC doesn't much care for tummy time.  I read somewhere to try putting babies on boppy for tummy time.  She actually will stay like this for a few minutes without screaming.  She even seems to be enjoying it.  That is until she squirms down and is flat on her face surrounded by boppy.

Sometimes you have to give boppy a lick and see how it tastes.  It must be really good because she likes to lick it often.

Week 13

First off I want to thank our good friend April for "pimping our blog".  We love it!  Be sure to check out the Reed Family Blog on Monday, they will be announcing if they are having a little boy or a little girl!  I am guessing little girl, so that probably means a little boy since I am almost never right.

I am still playing catch-up on pictures.  Here are some from week 13 of Hannah Claire's life.  We had a good week.  We spent as much time with Daddy as possible before he had to leave.  Shane took a new job and is having to spend 3 weeks in Indianapolis for training.  (We are so thankful he is home with us for the weekends!)  Here are some of our favorite pictures from that week.

Hannah Claire is really starting to use her hands well.  As you can see she is loving her "funny bunny".  Her facial expressions are hilarious too.  I can just hear her..."don't even think of touching my bunny."

She loves to spend time playing on her play mat with all of the dangling toys.  She is very intense on using those hands to grab things.
Success!  Once she grabs on she is not letting go.  Poor giraffe.
On Saturday we went to a local festival called "Dog Daze".  It is lots of fun.  Local vendors set up tents and there is dancing and dogs everywhere.  We enjoyed it but it was extremely hot.  Once we got home Hannah Claire and Daddy needed a little time to chill out.
More play time and using those hands.  She prefers to get this giraffe's horns (or whatever those things are) in her mouth.  She also likes his tail.  It has several purple pieces sticking out of the back.  They go good in a 3 month old's mouth and hands.
Our great friend Melissa came by to spend some time with HC.  They got to play and Melissa even got to rock her some.  Hannah Claire had lots of fun.
We have to have some sleeping pictures since she does so much of that.  Here she fell asleep on Daddy.  Notice the cute chubby legs!!!  I love it.
Here she is snoozing on Mommy.  It was so sweet, you can see her hugging me.  I could just squeeze her!

Week 12

Week 12 was lots of fun.  We are getting into a routine and getting more and more use to life with Hannah Claire.  She is such a blessing and the days are flying by.  Here are some of the pictures from week 12.  Enjoy!

Being a baby is tough work.  HC was playing with her toys and the next thing we knew she was OUT.
Our happy girl.
Our sweet friend Kelly sent Hannah Claire this super soft rug.  Yes it's a rug and it is so soft!  HC loves it.  She likes to lay on it and rub it with her hands.  She also likes to sleep on it.

What she doesn't like is tummy time.  Look at that face.  You would think she is so mistreated.
We started off the week with an outreach project for our church.  Our church did a sermon series called "One Prayer" along with thousands of other churches this summer.  Our small groups went along with the series and we ended the semester with an outreach project to the community.  Hannah Claire is starting early in her service to Jesus and the city.  Here we are delivering food to a retirement home.  She had lots of fun, just like we adults did.
Bath time...what fun!!!
Hannah Claire and I went to meet my Mom in Huntsville for some furniture shopping.  We didn't get much done on that front but we had lots of fun.  Here HC and Nana are in a deep conversation (one of her favorite things to do now).
I love my Nana!
Just showing my smile and my diaper.  What fat rolls?
