The Morris Boys

We got to see our friends from Texas a couple of weekends ago. Sadly it had been almost a year since we had seen them. Watching our kids interact was so much fun. They had a blast once they got warmed up. They pretty much ignored one another until dinner. I guess forced eating at the same table will break down any barriers that you have. After dinner it was fun zone! HC was loving the big wheel. Evan loved his fishing game (which I stepped on before leaving crushing a poor fish).
Watching two brothers is pretty funny. They are rough and tumble.
I'm not sure what was happening here but I think Evan may be policeman in the future. Watch out criminals, this man is sneaky and good with a gun!
We tried to get a picture of all of the kids. Well, that was next to impossible. Mrs. Sheila tried to help. This was the best we got!
When we got ready to leave Hannah Claire handed out some hugs, even if they were not interested. Matt at least gave her a courtesy hug.
Evan broke free as quick as possible. Thankfully she didn't take it personally.

Showering Melissa & Baby Lillian

I can't even begin to explain how excited I am that my best friend from college is having her first baby! We found out she was expecting on our anniversary & what a great gift it was! Sweet baby Lillian Grace will be arriving sometime in mid-April. I love the fact that we are going to have kids that are so close in age and will get to grow up knowing each other. I got the honor of helping host a shower for Melissa & Lillian. The food was super yummy!
We love Tony, Melissa's husband, but he has his flaws. He is a UGA fan. This was one of the cutest gifts I have ever seen. The bib says "I'm confused". Love it! It also had a burp cloth that was Bama on one side and UGA on the other side. How adorable!
There is nothing like a shower to catch up with friends you don't get to see often. It was great to see Rebecca.
From roomies for two years in college to pregnant mommies! Wow, how times have changed.

Dinner with The Mitchells

We finally were able to get together with our sweet friends The Mitchells. It had been way too long. We decided to eat at the house so the girls could play and play they did. Ansley is almost two so they had lots of fun playing together.
HC was going in for a hug, Ansley was not so sure.
She gave in though. Sweet little friends!!!
Hannah Claire loves the elephant stools we have in Shane's room. Actually I think they may be plant stands, but either way, they are perfect stools for little ladies. She went and got both of them for a nice seat for the girls. We hope to play together again soon with sweet Ansley!

Personality

Hannah Claire has left behind her shy stage and really is quite the little entertainer. She prefers to make people laugh (just like her Daddy), make silly faces and talk your ears off. She gets super silly if we are late getting into bed which makes parenting hard because we don't need to laugh but she is so funny. I mean how can you not smile at this face?
She loves to model her outfit for school once she has her cheese crackers.
We get some very big attitude from this little one too. We got dressed and ready to leave for the McWayne Center one Saturday. Our buddy from Craneworks had free passes for us on big machine day and we were super excited. Hannah Claire was so excited she could not go to sleep for naptime. That resulted in a full on meltdown as we were heading out the door. I was in the car when she started pitching a fit. We decided to be stern parents and ruled out the trip. This was the response we got when we came back inside. Not only do we deal with it from HC but also from her baby too. We got a decent nap after this little fit.
If you know any 2 year old girl you know they love all things princess. Hannah Claire is no different. She loves being a princess, even if it is a Minnie princess.
To divert from all pink and princess we have been working our gameface. Look out, here comes Hannah Claire!

It's a....

....BOY!!! Christopher Wyatt Miller is scheduled to be here around June 30, 2011. We are so super excited. Hannah Claire joined us at the doctors office for the big ultrasound. She had very little interest in seeing her brother and more in checking out the little room we were in. We did get to see some great pictures of our sweet little boy. He was super cooperative during the ultrasound.
He was not modest at all which was perfect since we wanted to know if we needed pink or blue.
She even switched it over to 4D for us. We got to see Wyatt sucking his thumb. Hannah Claire did the same thing so I think they may be a lot alike.
We tried to get a few belly pictures. This is the belly at 19 weeks.
HC loves to touch the belly. Thankfully she is not pulling my shirt up since that is the only way she thinks she can talk to the baby (even in public). She is going to be an awesome big sister!

A Day at The Capstone

Since having a child we just do not get to go to as many basketball games as we used to. Week night games are almost impossible and weekend games can be challenging as well. We were able to pick a weekend to head down to T-Town to check out the Tide on the hardwood. Tip-off was at 3 pm so we decided to go do some touristy things since we don't get to do those things on football game days. We stopped first to get some pictures at the President's Mansion. It is always so beautiful, especially on a sunny Saturday.
We left there and ventured over to the quad. HC has been there before but there is always thousands of people and chaos. We got to explore and really see the beauty of the campus. Somebody loved it, but not as much as she loves her Daddy!
We roamed over to the Supe Store to do a little browsing. It is really amazing how much campus has changed since we were there. This May is 10 years for me and this past December marked the 10 year mark for Shane. Wow, how time flies. Since we forgot the stroller we had to get creative on our walk when little feet got tired.
I love this picture!
As we headed back to the car, HC got to explore the footprints around Denny Chimes.
This was our last picture of smiles. Right after it was taken HC took a little spill. Needless to say we headed straight back to the car since most college kids enjoying the quietness of the quad were giving us looks over the screaming child.
We finally arrived at the game to meet up with our friend Kim. Her husband is a coach and had gotten us tickets. She kept apologizing because we were not going to be able to sit with her because of some ticket confusion. We were sad to not sit with her but thankful for tickets. It actually worked out great. At first we had tons of room for HC to roam since no one was sitting next to us. Once the game started some people came down and sat in the seats. So much for roaming room.
Just a minute or so after the people sat down we noticed the Sabans had arrived and were headed up our stairs. The lady in front of us turned around and informed the people they would need to move since they were in the Saban's seats. What!?! Sure enough, they sat down right beside us. Mrs. Terry was super sweet to Hannah Claire. I wish I could say the same about HC. She was preoccupied eating her Crasins and could respond. We did get a phone picture but I have yet to figure out how to load them on here so you will just have to take my word for it.
After climbing over the Saban's twice to go potty and then return they left at halftime. Kim called to tell us there were empty seats beside her so we moved over to her section. When we went around we ran into Big Al. Now we thought after all of the success with characters at Disney HC would be cool with Big Al. That would be wrong with a capital W! We may have traumatized her. Bama won the game and we had a great day visiting our old stomping ground.

HC Hits Two and Three-Quarters

On February 9th we got make another mark on Hannah Claire's growth chart. It is so hard to believe we are quickly approaching the 3 year mark. This sweet baby girl is growing into such an amazing little girl. She even passed the 3 foot mark!
She keeps us on our toes. You just never know what she may say or do next. Shane insists she is the funniest kid ever. I agree with him. Here is some examples of what she has been up to lately & some funny stuff she says:
- "mommeep" - what she now calls me instead of mommy
- she has learned our real names and likes to throw those out periodically
- Loves to sing "God Our Father" very loudly at each meal
- "In the beginning creation, heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1" and always follows up with "Cinderelle, Cindrelle" (I have no idea why)
- "Maggie, Mark, Luke & John"
- On our way home the other night:
HC - "Daddy, roll my window down"
Shane - "It's too cold"
HC - "Too cold, ice ice baby, too cold, too cold"
- Loves to sing: Twinkle Twinkle, Father Abraham, Zacchaeus (to which she says before she starts "get your little man ready"), The Itsy Bitsy Spider and her ABC's
- She will tell anyone, regardless of gender, "That's a no mam" (she has even said it to herself)
- She has recently started talking about herself in the third person (i.e. "That's a no mam Hannah Claire")
- She prays for: Nana, Pappy, Mawmaw, Pawpaw, Mommy, Daddy, the baby, the Wyatt, the boy, Allie, Junior, Jesus and all the peoples

Reese's Beauty Birthday Party

Hannah Claire's buddy Reese had a birthday party at the beauty salon. All of the little girls got to get their hair did, nails painted and some make-up put on. They were loving it! HC was a little shy at first, mainly because I had to wake her up from her nap to go. Once she woke up she started getting interested in what was going on. Reese's Nana painted HC's nails for the very first time.
Once the nails were done, it was time for a little lip gloss.
Hannah Claire and the birthday girl posed for some glamour shots.
Hannah Claire finally got her turn in Miss Nicole's chair to get hair and makeup. Since Miss Nicole cuts our hair she was pretty comfortable getting up in the chair.
Oh I am so not ready to see my baby girl in makeup but she does look so cute.
All the little ladies once they were dolled up posed for a picture. They had a blast!
During the eating portion of the party, HC demonstrated her new skill of drinking out of a big girl cup. She was very proud of herself and so was her mommy!
Sweet Reese got lots of fun stuff. HC wanted to see all of the action so she marched herself right up in the middle of everything. Adios shy girl, hello Miss Independent!

SomeRandom Pictures

Hannah Claire and Daddy getting some love in before bedtime.
Mommy needs love too.
Stop! Roll Tide!
Mark Ingram may have started it after scoring a TD in the national championship game but I would say HC's version is way cuter! Plus her eyes peering through are very intimidating.
