Attack on Mommy

It all started so innocently.  Let me set the scene.  We were playing in the floor.  HC loves to play the "I'm gonna get you" game.  She particularly loves to do this where she gets me and Daddy gets her.  While we were in the floor she decides that my nose looks tasty.  So in she goes.

This kid is crazy.  My nose was covered in slobber and as you can see HC had to recover from the attack.  She has only done this one time.  Hopefully we won't have another incident.

Daddy's Little Helper

Since Miss Priss thinks that standing in her crib is the coolest thing ever we had to lower the crib to the lowest level.  Our nights usually go like this: bedtime routine, lay HC down, hear playing, hear standing up, hear pacy hit the floor, hear laughs, quiet, then crying.  Since this makes for a difficult bedtime Daddy got to work on lowering the crib one Sunday when we got home from church.  HC was in the process of changing out of her church clothes when she needed to get down and help Daddy.  He clearly couldn't do it on his own.
Daddy, I think you need to be over here.

Maybe we need to be working up top.

Let me stop and smile for the camera.

The Skills of Grandmothers

It is so much fun to see what grandmothers can teach little ones in just a short amount of time.  Specifically over a meal.  Hannah Claire got to have lunch with her Nana a few weeks ago.  Nana is already spoiling HC.  She has already started the dollar bill thing.  You know what I mean, everytime you see your grandparents they give you a dollar.  Well, HC got her first dollar bill and was very excited about it.  She showed it off for the camera.

A few nights later we had dinner with Mawmaw and Pawpaw.  Over the course of dinner Mawmaw got HC to give her five.  Now we had not been working on this at all.  I guess grandmothers just have their ways.  As you can see Hannah Claire thinks this is the funniest thing.

Our Day Trip

On March 8th we made a trip up to Florence for our cousin TJ's baptism.  We were so excited that he gave his life to Christ and wanted to be there to show our support for him.  Granted there was some confusion about the time but we rolled in just in time to see TJ.  Before the service (it was in the evening) we went to see Nana and Pappy.  It was great to spend some time with them.  Nana is a CPA so we don't get to see her much this time of year.  Just a few more weeks for her and tax season will be over!  Another year almost down!!!  Pappy found a rocking horse for Hannah Claire.  Nana gave her a look at it since HC was not digging Pappy's facial hair.  :)

She was okay at that point but then Nana went too far.  She put HC on the horse (who has since been named Roscoe).  How dare she.  Just look at that face on Hannah Claire.

She grabbed Nana and wouldn't let go.  Of course Nana saved her from Roscoe.  I really think she is scared of his maine and tail.  She will pet the rest of him.

Granny Sue and Pawpaw John came and ate with us.  This is HC's great grandparents.  She had so much fun and loved her some Pawpaw John.  Hannah Claire is at the stage where she is not much into men other than her Daddy and now her Pawpaw John.  It was so sweet!

This is the sweetest picture...

10 Months

Hannah Claire continues to grow and change everyday.  Her personality is so evident.  She has characteristics of both of us.  Since we are very similar she really didn't have much of a chance.  Ha!  In the last month we have seen how very opinionated miss HC can be.  She has learned that she wants things a certain way and is not afraid to let us know what she thinks.  I have no idea where she gets this.  Just kidding!  There is no more sitting around, she is constantly on the move.  This was evident as we began the red chair pictures.  I sat her down, grabbed the camera and this is what I got...

We got a sorta smile but it didn't last long because as I said, she doesn't stay put for any length of time.

"Oh, what do I see?"

"What Mommy?  I'm not doing anything.  Look at my sweet face. :)"

"See, I was just admiring you pretty wedding picture with Nana and Granny Sue."

I have no idea what was going on here.  I know that I am waving but I'm not sure why I have 14 chins and who know what HC's face is all about.  She is very silly!

That is the look she gives just before a kiss.  We LOVE that face!

I love the next two.  Like Father, Like Daughter:

Meeting Baby Lillian

So I got a little behind doing posts.  I am slowly catching up.  A couple of weeks ago our good friends Heidi and baby Lillian came for a visit.  This was the first time HC and Lillian got to meet.  It is funny to think that when they get older we will think of them as the same age but now they seem worlds apart.  We had lots of fun.  Hannah Claire got a little jealous when Mommy was holding Lillian.  I'm not gonna lie, I loved it!  Here was some of the fun.

Look at that sweet girl.

We even got a wave!

Getting a photo of two little ones is tough, especially when one can crawl.  We did get a few though.

Hannah Claire even shared her block with Lillian.

Oh wait, maybe I need that back.

Yes, it still tastes the same.  All is good.

Since our visit Lillian has not been feeling well.  Please keep them in your prayers.

Mommy's Babysitter

Shane has had to travel the last two weeks for work so Hannah Claire and I have been alone.  Every morning when we are getting ready HC roams our room and bathroom in her walker.  She really loves it.  I had always heard how dangerous these things are, and I guess I can see how they could be if you don't watch your child.  Anyways, my mom's sweet friend gave us her old walker and I'm so grateful.  I'm not sure how we would get ready without it.  Sorry, that was a tangent.  One morning HC was not feeling it.  Since it was a beautiful day outside, I opened the shutters.  It was like magic.  I was able to get dressed.  Well, I could have if I hadn't been so busy taking pictures.  She enjoyed it so much.  We are so ready for warm weather so we can actually get outside.

On the Move

Nana and Pappy gave Hannah Claire a push toy for Christmas.  She has always enjoyed it but has really improved her skills at pushing it on her own.  Here is video of her pushing it around with her doggie from Mawmaw and Pawpaw.

Meal Time

Meal time is a favorite around our house.  Hannah Claire doesn't love it as much as Mommy and Daddy.  She eats fairly well most of the time but it can be a battle.  In an effort to teach Miss Pris how to feed herself we handed over food and spoon.  (It was bath night.)  You can see for yourself how it went...

Needless to say, not much made it to the mouth.  Oh well, guess we will have to try it again at a later time.  We have struggled with the sippy cup.  Hannah Claire use to cry at the sight of the sippy cup.  We have progressed to actual play and the occasional drinking from the cup!  I think she uses it as a teething toy too.

Daddy got an infrared turkey fryer for Christmas.  We gave it a go for the first time.  As you can see Daddy had some help from his trusty assistant.  The boston butt was yummy!

March Madness

Well, it wasn't exactly March but just before.  We made a family trip to Tuscaloosa for a Bama basketball game.  We played Arkansas and won BIG!  Roll Tide!  This was Hannah Claire's first basketball game and she was not quite sure about it.  There was a lot of sudden loudness, clapping, etc...  The game didn't start until 7pm, otherwise known as bedtime at our house.  It was a little rocky but we had fun anyways.  She did enjoy some of the game (mainly the cheerleaders, she is such a girl:) ).

Not having fun...  (sidebar-the guy behind us was an Arkansas fan)

She clung to us tightly most of the night.

Hannah Claire did some cheering at the game.  We got to see our sweet friend Kim at the game.

We also enjoyed an ice cream sandwich.  HC loved it too!

If we could all kick back and relax at the game!
