Christopher Wyatt Miller

After 39 weeks of carrying our son, Brandi gave birth to Wyatt on June 23 at 7:19am.  He weighed a whopping 10 lbs & is 21.5" long.  After seeing him for the 1st time, we knew why Brandi was so uncomfortable for the last month.  Our lil big man is such a great addition to the Miller family.  Hannah Claire, aka Big Sis is mostly indifferent towards him but she did have a few moments of love to give lil bro.  We're so proud of Wyatt & can see such a great future for him when we gaze into his beautiful eyes.  Here are some pics that were taken over the 1st 2 days:

Wyatt all stretched out showing his manly physique.

Mommy & Wyatt enjoying some love.  Look at that chubby face on my boy!

Looks like a one-eyed stare down.

Papa John holding his great-grandson.

We have a pic like this of HC being held by Granny Sue in the hospital.

"I'm free!"

Sweet moments between big sis & lil bro.

Mommy & HC being silly.

Pudgy bunny!

HC giving Wyatt his bear she built for him while Pawpaw is spending some QT with his grandkids.

Looks like a proud sister to me!

Nana holding that sweet grandson.

"Why so many pictures?!?"

That's a good looking family of 4!

"Check out these muscles."

We've been so blessed by God with our 2 healthy children.  Wyatt seems to be laid back already, which is a neccessity when you have a diva for a big sis.  Thanks to everyone for the prayers over the past few weeks for Brandi & Wyatt to have a great delivery.  They both have done well.  Words can't express the joy I have being the leader of this wonderful family.

Water Day

Once a week at school during the summer Hannah Claire's class has water day. They get to play in the blow up pools outside all day long. The parents are all invited to come the week after Wyatt's arrival for a end of the year party. Since I will not be able to go I wanted to go the Tuesday before his arrival. Of course when I got there HC just kept saying let's go home. She did play a little before we left.
Some of the babies came out and HC got a little practice at being a big sis. Notice the little boy in blue keeping a watchful eye on HC. He is the big brother of the baby HC is hugging and he is super protective.
HC with some of her buddies, Audrey and Harper. Cute girls!
When we got home Hannah Claire had a gift to open from our good friends the Ayers for her birthday.
She was super excited to see her new doll. She loves her "polka dot baby" or "Baby Lauren" as she calls her. Of course the first thing she did was take her shoes off. This doll came at a great time. She has gotten to swing in the real baby swing, bounce in the bouncy seat, you name it. We are so blessed to have such sweet friends.

Happy Father's Day

We were super excited to celebrate Shane this year for Father's Day! We are so thankful for a Daddy that loves and spends so much time with Hannah Claire. HC answered some questions at school about her Daddy. Here were her answers:
We were so excited to celebrate Shane we spread it out over a couple of weekends. Actually one of Daddy's gifts was needed to finish up hanging some things in Wyatt's room so we let him open it a week early. Of course HC helped him open up his gift.
Daddy and his best girl!
On Father's Day Shane got to open his other gifts, with a little help.
Shane has always wanted a marshmallow gun. We decided he needed one (as long as I am not the target, yea right!). We ended up with two so us girls have a little defense. Daddy and HC had a blast shooting at each other. As soon as the marshmallow hit the floor, HC was in hot pursuit to make sure it was in her mouth next. Good times!
With Wyatt's arrival happening at anytime we had already gotten Shane his Father's Day and his birthday gifts. Since his main birthday gift would be perfect for use at the hospital we let him open it on Father's Day and saved the other for his birthday. He was totally surprised and super excited when he opened up his new electronic backpack. He spotted it at Best Buy the week before and loved it. I went back the next day since I had no idea what to get him for his birthday.
Shane, thank you for being such a great father to Hannah Claire and Wyatt! Our family is stronger because of you. The fact that you put God first helps our family keep our focus on Him. I am so thankful that you will not hesitate to pray with and for our family all of the time. You bring fun and laughter to our home everyday and make life fun, especially for this uptight momma. We are so proud of your strength through the past several months. You have been a rock for us and for your own Dad. I pray that Hannah Claire will find a man just like her daddy to spend her life with and that Wyatt will be just like his daddy! We love you and thank you for being you!!!

Build-A-Bear

We made a Saturday evening trip across town to the Galleria for a few last minute things before Wyatt's arrival. As we walked by Build-A-Bear, Hannah Claire noticed it for the first time. I'm pretty sure she heard the chorus of "Hallelujah" as she looked up at the huge bear in the case outside of the store. We walked around the store a little and checked things out. We ended up leaving and HC did not even ask for one thing. As we walked down the the mall we decided maybe she should make a bear to give to her brother when he arrives so we turned around and headed back. She was very serious about picking out the perfect bear. He could not be pink because "boys don't like pink". Once she found the perfect brown bear we headed to the stuffing machine. She was a little skeptical at first but caught on pretty quickly. During the heart ceremony HC showered the bear with lots of love and kisses.
Once the bear was all sewn up she took him to get clean and dried off so we could take him home. We even named him, Baby Bear and left with a birth certificate. It was so sweet and I love that Hannah Claire was so excited to make a gift for Wyatt and not worry about anything for herself. We were so impressed with her selflessness we let her make herself a bear.
We went through the entire process again but this time with a pretty pink bear.
The lady let Hannah Claire put three hearts in her bear since she is three.
She rubbed the hearts on her head so the bear will be smart.
Dad even got in on the cleaning action for HC's bear. Our pretty pink bear ended up with a purple shirt and some denim pants (that keep falling off). She ended up named Lucy.

Small Group Pool Party

Our awesome small group is meeting throughout the summer and since Wyatt will be arriving week three we have hit the first two meetings. The first meeting was at the Shrum's house and including swimming in their awesome pool. Hannah Claire was fired up. She wanted to go down the slide so very badly so Michael offered (well, was persuaded by a very polite three year old) to do the honors. This kid has zero fear when it comes to water and she was ready to go. I will let the pictures tell the story.
She loved it and even went down again. Hannah Claire and her buddy "Little Emily" had lots of fun playing and splashing around together.
While I got attacked by Tyler and the noodle.
We are so thankful for our friendships that we have developed through small groups. Some of our best friends have come from spending time together in God's Word. We are also very thankful that Hannah Claire plays "small group" with Daddy's old papers from work. She spread the sheets all around the living room floor for her small group. I think the girl has leadership potential!

Silly Kids

We always love when the Morris Family makes it to town. Not only do we get to see great friends but we almost always get a delicious meal thanks to Sheila! She did not disappoint this time around. Yummo! The kids seem to really be getting to know one another, even though they only see each other a few times a year. We tried to get a few pictures before we left. HC and Matt were on board.
Evan, not so much.
After some screaming...
...he could not resist.
We even got a laugh!
We are so thankful for good friends and getting to spend time with them!

The Birthday Continues...

...for Hannah Claire that is. She got a few gifts from the Girls Night Out from friends that could not come to her birthday party. She got to open them the next morning before school. She was super excited! This little girl takes after her Daddy's family and loves to "read" her cards first. We even have to reread them again and again. She has such a sweet heart. Her first gift was a super cute tea set from Lillian and Will. She loves it! I even took a little nap one evening after work and woke up with tea cups all over me. At least I'm fun while sleeping!
HC's buddies Reese and Addie were at the beach during her birthday so they picked out a gift and sent to her. She loves this caterpillar! She names him Cattio and Buzzy Bee. I have no clue where Buzzy Bee came from but she has stuck with it.
She was also super excited about the painting Mrs. Valerie did for her. She is one blessed little girl!
