20 Weeks - Halfway There

We hit 20 weeks on Friday. We are officially halfway through our pregnancy! Wow how time flies.

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. We had a great time seeing family and getting some rest. We spent some time with Shane's family. We came home for a few days and Tyler, Shane's cousin, came back with us. We enjoyed spending time with him. We got to see A Highlands Christmas which is our church Christmas program. It was awesome! What a way to celebrate Jesus's birthday. We then went to see my side of the family. We had a great time! When we got home our good friend JC came and spent some time with us. She lives in Ohio so we don't get to see her much.

I guess when you mix pregnancy and family you never know what you may get. My family has never been one to hold back their opinion. That was apparent Christmas night when my aunt told me that it was clear we were having a girl because of my "big ole caboose". Now, she did marry into the family so she has only known me for say about 15 years or so but she has apparently never noticed my lovely J-Lo booty. I take after my dad's side of the family, what can I say. A big bottom is part of me and has not actually changed that much. At least I don't think so. I got a kick out of it. Guess I'm not that hormonal right now. Good news for Shane!

Y'all have a safe and fun New Years. Roll Tide!

Merry Christmas

We want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! We are so thankful for a little baby, born in a manager so many years ago. Without Him we would have no peace and no reason to celebrate. We pray that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and remember the true reason for the season.

Pictures from today...more to come

Look at my strong back.

I must be smart because here is my big ol' noggin.

I may be a kicker.

It's A Girl!!!

Daddy's little girl is doing great. She has long legs and everything looks to be fine. Praise God! Here are a few of the pictures. We have tons but I won't post them all. Well not right now anyways. They could tell it was a girl because of the lack of male anatomy and the three little dots that are actually lines to signify female anatomy. This was the clearest shot of her. She didn't want to cooperate at first but after a little shaking she moved around so we could see. I'll post some more pictures tonight. There are some great ones. Thank you for all the prayers.

1 Week and Counting

Next Wednesday (the 12th) is the "big ultrasound". Hopefully we will find out the sex of the baby. That is if the little stinker will cooperate. It is my child though so there could be a little bit of stubbornness. Be sure to check back next week for the update. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Baby Bedding

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. We had a great time seeing family, eating and of course crazy Friday morning shopping. I think a new record was set. Mom woke me up at 2:50 and we were out the door by 3:00am. We are crazy but we love.

Just a few more weeks until we find out the sex of the baby! We decided to do the nursery neutral so it can be used for other children. We ordered the bedding. I thought you guys might want to see a picture of it. It came in and is so cute. The "nursery" is currently a Christmas tree/snow village room. After Christmas we will start to work on the painting and all of that fun stuff. I know Shane can hardly wait.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We wanted to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving! We had a fun morning. Cile (my co-worker) and her husband Jeff, Dan (one of Shane's friends) and Shane and I went to Rick and Bubba's Turkey Toss. Of course I didn't get to toss any turkeys but we had a great time to kick off the thanksgiving weekend.

We did go to the doctor last week. Everything was fine and we got to hear the heartbeat (a strong 145). We go back 3 weeks from today on Dec. 12th to find out the sex of the baby! We can't wait to find out. We will let you know as soon as we do. Our friend Rachel finds out tomorrow (Thanksgiving Day). She and her husband are missionaries in Jordan. Check out their website: http://web.mac.com/nateandrach/Site/Welcome.html

We are so thankful for the wonderful family and friends in our life. We are praying for safe travels for everyone and a very happy thanksgiving.

Week 13

It was a long weekend for us Alabama fans (especially those of us who made the drive to Starkville). Oh well, that was our first and probably last trip over. That is just another check on the SEC schedule for both Shane and me.

I'm still real tired from the pregnancy. I went to bed Saturday night at 8:30 and slept until 8:00 Sunday morning. Then had a couple hour nap after church on Sunday afternoon. If only I could always get that much sleep! I would LOVE it!

We have a doctor's appt. this Thursday. No ultrasound this time but next time we will find out the sex of the baby! People have tried to talk us out of finding out but there is no way. We both want to know. We will let everyone know how the appt. goes.

Hopefully I will be able to put some pictures on here too. Shane's desktop crashed last week with all of our pictures on it. It is "maybe" getting fixed as we speak. I have learned to be better about saving pictures to a backup hard drive. I guess better to learn now than when we have baby pictures we don't want to loose.

Have a great week! God bless.

Welcome to our blog.

It has been suggested to us to keep a blog of the pregnancy. We decided it was a good idea so here we are. We thought it would be a good way of family and friends keeping up with what was happening with us and the baby. We hope you guys enjoy it!

We found out we were expecting the morning of the Alabama vs. Arkansas game. Wow what a day. We get some of the biggest news of our lives and AL beat Ark. Roll Tide! After 3 at home pregnancy tests I called the doctor on Monday to schedule an appointment. I had to go to Orlando for work until Wednesday so Thursday morning we had our first doctors appt. We got to see the baby (which was a little speck) and hear the heartbeat! It was absolutely amazing!

We went back to the doctor 4 weeks later and got to see the baby again. This time it really looked like a baby. We could see its little hand pushing back when the ultrasound lady pushed on my belly. Fiesty already! Baby Miller is suppose to join us on May 16, 2008.
