It is Official... We Even Have Video

So I told everyone about Hannah Claire crawling at school a few weeks ago. Since then she has not crawled at all. Well, yesterday when I went to pick her up at school, Ms Alison told me she had been crawling all day long. I squatted down and she crawled right to me! Yea, Hannah Claire!!! Of course we couldn't wait to get home and show Daddy. I taped her showing her Daddy for the first time. Now I preface this video, it is a little long. I didn't edit it down because I know the grandmothers will want to see it all. If you do watch it all (I think it is almost 4 minutes) you will get to see lots of HC personality. She stops for a while and shows her attitude, which we are seeing a lot of these days. She also gives pooh bear an Eskimo kiss. Towards the end of the video she calls the doggies. This is a new thing she just started doing. It is really cute. We are so excited and will be busy this weekend baby proofing the house. Any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated (what is necessary/what is not).

Rib Counting

It is so funny to me to see my Mom playing the same games with her that she played with me. Nana was here a few weeks ago and this was some video we got of her and Hannah Claire playing in the floor. Mom was "counting her ribs". It really does tickle so much. The anticipation is almost worse than the tickling. I thought it was too cute not to share.

New Shoes

Hannah Claire is clearly going to love shoes.  She will eye shoes on her feet, other people's feet, even on the floor.  She has always been a huge fan of Crocs.  It really doesn't matter what color, she loves them all.  Both grandparents wanted to get her some but they just don't come small enough.  So she was been left to walk around in Daddy's Crocs.

Well, Nana wasn't feeling too well and stopped by Walgreens (I think she said).  While picking up a few things she spotted some pretty pink Crocs (or like Crocs).  They were pretty small so she got HC a pair.  Now she can sport her very own pair.

She may be growling in this picture, one of her favorite things to do now.  Silly girl!

She still admires, even when they are on her feet.

9 Month Pictures

We went to get pictures made today for our 9 month mark.  We put it off waiting on Hannah Claire to get over her little sickness.  She did great for the most part.  We hit a point where she had enough.  After a quick diaper change she was much better.  That kid wets more diapers!  (I had just changed her, like 15 minutes before and the diaper was heavy!)  I tried to pick some of our favorites.  It is hard to do because we think they are all great.  Let me also say, I did not like the background in some of the pictures.  They went for an Eastery backdrop.  It didn't go so well because that was when she had her meltdown.  They also went 80's background for her black & white outfit.  It was TERRIBLE.  We were able to get a close up that cropped the background out of it but we didn't get to see the cute pants (thanks Nana!!!).  I'm not sure why they have this backdrop but they do.  Oh well, live and learn.  I should have just said, this is 2008 please use another background.  I didn't and it turned out fine.  I'll quit rambling and let you get to the pictures.

9 Months

We celebrated 9 months of Hannah Claire's life a week ago Monday.  I use the term celebrated very loosely.  If a stomach virus for Mommy counts then I had the best celebration ever!  Daddy had HC duty by himself Monday night.  He did a great job, but our little angel is not always the most cooperative.  I know you are all shocked by this. :)  He did get a few pictures on her actual birthday.   As you can see she only wants Daddy to hold her.

This is what happens when she doesn't get her way.

Since she was already angry, Daddy thought he would go all out.  It didn't get any better.  Bless her little heart.

It took a while for me to fully recover from the little bug that HC brought home from school.  I was thrust into HC duty on Tuesday though, Daddy came home from work with it.  Needless to say last week was about survival at our house.  I completely disinfected the house (or so I thought) because Nana came to keep HC.  Poor Nana got it on Saturday.  We are so sorry Mom!  We love you!  Thanks for keeping HC so Shane and I could have a date night.

We went to the doctor for Hannah Claire's 9 month check-up on Thursday morning.  She is doing great.  She weighs in at 18lbs even (25%) and is 27 1/2in. long (50%).  We did find out that she has double ear infections.  We are not sure if she never got over the last ones or if these are completely new ones.  She has been very cranky lately so maybe this explains it.  Since our visit to the doctor it has been crazy.  She now has a bad cough and a runny nose like you have never seen.  I mean where does all that snot come from?  We finally did our 9 month red chair pictures this weekend so we could stay consistent, even if they were a few days late.   She doesn't stay put for long.

She gets bored easily too.  "Hum, what can I get into?"

Some Daddy love:

Mommy was counting her ribs.  This is tickling and she finds it hilarious!

Visits with The Coverts

Our sweet friends, The Coverts, were in town for a few weeks.  They recently moved up north and we don't get to see them often.  We went over and visited the first week they were here.

As you can see Isabella and Hannah Claire are friends.  HC likes to check Bella out.

Sean was able to come in for a weekend and we all went to dinner.  (Also with the Martins, but somehow I have zero pictures of them.)  I love this picture.  I promise Hannah Claire was not scared.  She was checking Sean out and the picture makes it look like the kid is terrified.  They were really having fun. :)

HC and Bella got a little more time together before they had to leave.  They even matched.  How cute!

HC likes to ride the horsey on Daddy's leg.  Isabella wanted to join in on the fun.

We had a great time seeing our friends and we will miss you guys.  We can't wait for our next visit!  We love you guys.

Good Rest

Hannah Claire goes to bed between 7 and 7:30 most nights.  We always check on her on our way to bed.  One night we almost woke her up laughing.  I opened her door and this is what I saw:

She moves all over her bed but this was a first for us.  She was nestled in the corner and her little hand was stretched over her head.  I couldn't get a shot of her because I didn't want to wake her with the flash.  I was able to take a quick picture without much damage.  You know when your hand is dangling you are getting good rest!

HC's 1st Trip to the Park

Life at the Miller home has been a little crazy! We started our new small group last night, which was at our home. We are very excited about the next 12 weeks and what God has in store for us. Anyways, everyone left so Shane and I watched the Office (the best show of all time!!!) and went to bed. As soon as we got in bed we heard this strange noise from Hannah Claire's room. Shane went to check on her and our little angel and gotten sick in her bed. Bless her heart, it was everywhere. We began stripping everything, the bed, the kid, even the changing pad. It was terrible! Once we got everything cleaned up we were debating what to do with her when it happened again. Change clothes again. Leave it to a really sleepy mom to spread all sorts of stuff out over the bed and prop her baby girl up beside her. Needless to say none of us got much sleep. Around 2am we finished with our little "bug". Since this bug has been floating around school we kept HC at home today. It is amazing to me how quickly kids bounce back. You would never know this kid had been sick all night. She laughed and played just like normal. We decided it was such a nice day we would go get some fresh air. That has to weed out any germs left in the body right? So off to the park we went. It was Hannah Claire's first visit. I would say we have many more park trips in our future. Not only will you get to see HC's fun on the swing but she also demonstrated her new found skill, waving. I think a kid at school taught her because she just started doing it on her own. Shane also took HC down the slid with him. She didn't cry but she didn't really enjoy it either. I guess she thought it was kinda pointless, so no video from that. When we left the park we had to pass back by the swings. As we did, HC began to wave bye at the swing. It was so cute. Of course the camera was safely packed in the tote bag it came in so no video of that sweet moment. Anyways we got some the swinging fun. As Shane said, "It is amazing what 12 hours can do for a kid."

Miller Look-alike Meter

MyHeritage: Family trees - Genealogy - Celebrities - Collage - Morph

Okay, I saw this on some friends of ours blogs so I gave it a try.  I thought it was interesting since about 95% of all people say she looks just like me (Brandi).  I guess she does have some of her Daddy in her too.  What do you guys think?

Dinner Time

I understand that Hannah Claire needs to practice eating in order to eat on her own someday.  This is an extremely messy experience.  We don't do it as often as we should.  We decided to let HC try her hand at a bowl of cereal one night.  I gave her the spoon which she is really good at getting into her mouth.  However the skill stops there.  Once I gave up the bowl of cereal the spoon hit the floor and in she went.  I grabbed the camera and just let her have fun.  It was bath night, thank goodness.  She had lots of fun!
