Memorial Day 2012

We spent Memorial Day weekend this year playing.  We played on the boat, on the pier, in the pool, on our bikes and with each other.  We had a blast!
Wyatt was not sure what Nelson was up to.  I guess neither was I.
This kid gets too much candy.  Every picture I find of her she has candy.
Wyatt looks miserable but I really think he enjoyed it.  He fell asleep on the boat ride.
I think Wyatt was concerned Hannah Claire was going to buck him off.
Sweet snuggles.
Sassy britches!
We even got to spend some more time with Granny Sue and Papa John.
Too cool!

Visiting with Granny Sue & Papa John

We headed up to Florence for the Memorial Day weekend.  We went up on Saturday and went straight to Granny Sue and Papa John's house.  The kids had a blast playing and visiting with them (as did Shane and I).  Hannah Claire was excited to show Papa John her new guitar until we got there and she found a doll to play with.  Wyatt had a blast listening to Papa John play his mandolin.
Papa John had fun too!
Of course this little girl ends up with candy no matter where she goes.
And this kid find something to get that he is not suppose to have.
Hannah Claire finally got involved in the musical festivities.  She sat down at the organ and Granny Sue gave her some instructions.
Hey what's that?
Where did it go?
I'm so thankful we went for a visit.  We all had a blast and it does the heart good to spend some much needed time with family.

Wyatt at 11 Months

11 Months?  Really?  I should be use to the time flying by but I'm not and I don't have to like it.  My baby should still be an infant instead of a big ol' 11 month old.  Here are my two boys snoozing on the couch.  How sweet is that baby with a pacy?  Just one more month until that is gone.
Our big boy is full of energy and into everything.  It is so hard to get onto him with this sweet smile.
Mommy loves her little man!
Handsome men!!!  Melt my heart.
Then wildness ensues.  All I can say is I'm not sure I'm ready but I don't really have a choice about that.

Just Playing Around

We enjoy spending some quality time playing with one another.  Both kids are big fans of playing in the kitchen these days.  So is Shane. :)
For some reason it is so fun to the adults in our home (and by adults I mean Shane) to put bowls on the heads of little ones.
How can you not love this grin?
This is a common occurrence around our house.  Eating breakfast while Mom and Dad get ready in the morning and little brother wanting some food.  He is our Mikey, he will eat anything!
Rapunzel has had some issues since she came into our family.  She keeps ripping at the seam.  Thankfully Mommy has a sewing machine and was able to do some minor surgery to save the day.  Hannah Claire kept a close eye to make sure I was administering the proper care.  I'm glad to report she came through the procedure just fine.

HC's 1st Dance Recital

Way back in September Hannah Claire started her very first dance class.  Throughout the year we have loved it and then not wanted to go the next week.  I guess this is normal for little ones.  Thankfully she has a great time, made new friends and enjoyed herself.  Finally the big night arrived.  Nana and Pappy came to the house to see Wyatt before we all headed to the recital.  Nana and Pappy brought HC a very special gift just for her.
Wyatt and Pappy kept a close eye on the unwrapping.
HC with her beautiful ballet necklace.
We finally arrived at the show and one little girl was fired up.  I didn't really know how she would do since she is so shy.  Thankfully that was far from her mind for the night.
There was  a lot of down time before the show got started.
Our little priss was all about dancing on the stage.  She loved it!
What was thankfully not caught on camera ws HC's spill down about 8 stairs.  She went sideways rolling down the stairs.  Those crazy tap shoes are slippery!  Thankfully she was fine.  Our conversation went like this as she is crying hard.
Me: Are you okay?  Does anything hurt?
HC: (through tears) I'm okay.
Me: Can you still dance?
HC: yes mam
Me:  Well get over there! :)

After HC's numbers her daddy gave her a huge boquet of flowers and we all got some pictures with the little dancer.
