Kid Free Weekend

Shane and I headed over to Oxford, MS for a weekend without kids and to see The Tide play.  It was one of the only SEC schools we had not been to for a game.  I'm not sure why because we really had a great time!  The game may have had a little to do with it.  We got a room at a swanky hotel in Tupelo.  Haha, it was the Jameson Inn and I'm pretty sure no one ever described it as swanky.  It was nice though because we slept all night with no early morning wake up call from Wyatt or Hannah Claire.  It was a much needed adult getaway.  Thanks Nana and Pappy for taking good care of the kids.

When we arrived on Friday night we enjoyed a yummy meal and then like true rockstars, went to the hotel and went to bed early.  The next morning we picked up our traditional gameday biscuit and headed to Oxford.  Once we found a parking spot and made some new Ole Miss friends we headed to the square.  The square is a neat place with lots of cool shops and some places to eat.  We ate lunch and then headed to the grove.  Kim, one of my coworkers, is an Ole Miss alum and had a tailgate that we went to.  I have always wanted to tailgate on the grove and I get to check that off the list now.  Shane and I took a stroll around the grove to take it all in.  I'm glad we did because we ran into The Snake!  So cool.  Shane got his picture made with him.

We did a few touristy pictures to document our trip.  After we saw The Snake we ran into one of my sorority sisters, Jama, and her sweet family.  Then we got to see Nancy and Allison, great family friends.  We had a great trip and really enjoyed the good old fashion tail whipping we put on them.  I did realize that I am now old and the student section is shocking and jaw dropping to me.  Kids, these days.  We hope to make this trip again one day.  Roll Tide!
