Homecoming at the Capstone 2011

Homecoming has always had a special place in my heart. I just love all of the festivities and excitement all week long. While in college I was on the homecoming committee of SGA. Specifically I was on the lawn decorations committee. We found the judges and took them around on Friday afternoon for judging. I loved it. Now taking my kids back to campus for homecoming is so much fun to me. I think HC enjoys it too. The game was not until 6pm so the parade was pushed back to 12:00. Okay, don't they know that kids need to take naps around that time? I mean who is scheduling this stuff, college kids? Oh yea, I forgot. Anyways, when we got to town we hung out with Nana and Pappy for a little while.
We made a pass down sorority row to see the lawn decorations. We stopped by the ZTA house for pictures. We also went inside to check out the renovations. The house looks amazing! I took HC upstairs to see where Mommy lived. We even found my composite pictures. I was showing her all four years and some of Mommy's friends that she knows. She looks at me and says, "that is crazy". Just a little dose of your old mommy. Nice! We met the young lady that lives in the same room I lived in my senior year. It was fun showing Hannah Claire part of my college life.
After seeing all of the decorations we went looking for a place to watch the parade. We stumbled on a friend from the drug rep world and watched the parade with her and her family.
Like I said, it was naptime and one little girl was getting sleepy.
We watched the parade right in front of the Walk of Champions so HC posed for a picture.
We do not get around campus much when we go down for games. Since we were out and about we decided to make a quick run by the quad to see my friend Katie and her brand new twin babies. Both of our kids were tired, hungry and fussy so we didn't get to stay long but it was great seeing the Seagrove Family of four!
Wyatt made his first trip into Bryant Denny Stadium for the game. Since it was a late game he ate and then slept the rest of the game. Hannah Claire did her best to keep him happy before we got his bottle ready.
Hannah Claire enjoyed the game and stealing Pappy's binoculars.
I loved homecoming as a kid and as a student but it is so much more fun as a Mommy.
