We had a very laid back Fourth this year. We hung out at the house most of the day and then headed to our local Independence Day Celebration. To say that Hannah Claire was fired up about the fireworks would be the understatement of the year. She has been asking about fireworks since New Years so the anticipation was at an all time high. We found a spot near some friends of ours and set up our chairs. HC was ready for the fireworks.
Our friends the Bungo's showed up to hang out with us. Kylee is one of HC's favorite babysitters and she thinks Kayden is her BFF.
A local church put on the celebration and they had tons of inflatables set up for the kids. Hannah Claire was a little skeptical but she did venture through Noah's Ark which culminated in a big slide.
HC had fun but that was the end of her inflatable fun for the day. We decided to grab a slice of pizza and head back to our chairs. Poor Daddy stood in line for over 45 minutes waiting on the pizza because Papa John's had run out. He finally rejoined us and we chowed down. Kayden had picked up HC a glow-in-the-dark necklace. It was a huge hit!
The fireworks finally started up and HC loved it! She was a little frightened at first but she quickly warmed up to them.
We had a great time celebrating our freedom with lots of our friends We are so thankful for the men and women who fight for our freedoms. We pray that you will be home safe and sound and the God will protect you and your family while you are protecting ours.
