The first weekend of August was a much needed vacation for the Millers. We headed down to Gulf Shores with Nana & Pappy to do our best to support the local economy. It really was amazing how not crowded it was to be peak season. It was great for us selfishly because we didn't have to deal with crowds of people. It really is sad that the media deterred so many people from heading down to the beautiful Emerald Coast because of the oil spill when it really was in great condition. We got down there a little after lunch on Wednesday and Hannah Claire was ready to hit the beach (she takes after her Nana & her Mommy).
Of course Hannah Claire could not stand getting anything on her hands, including sand. Thank to Pappy for helping the princess wash her hands.
Nana showed HC how to make a pretty seashell in the sand. She was amazed. It only lasted a few seconds until her foot smashed it to pieces.
Pappy is persistent and helped HC overcome her fear of the ocean. It didn't take a lot of persuading since she loves to swim.
We had lots of fun on our first day on the beach. We were all pretty exhausted from the trip but we headed out to get some yummy dinner at The Original Oyster House. We did manage to get somewhat of a decent picture before bed.
Thursday morning we headed down for some more fun on the beach. HC loved playing with her Nana & Pappy. High fives for the beautiful gulf!
Nope, not a shark. That's a Pizza Hut. You know; Pizza Hut, Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken & a Pizza Hut. HC loves to sing that song.
Saturday we did the beach thing until HC got a little nibble from a jellyfish. Nana had one earlier too. We decided to head up to the pool which was right up Hannah Claire's alley. The water was a little cold though.
This kid is not afraid of anything in the pool. She saw an older kid jump off the side backwards and had to do it too. She instructed Nana where to stand and off she went. She is a little daredevil.
We decided to hang out on the beach late in the afternoon (which is the absolute best time!). Daddy & his girl.
We got Hannah Claire changed to try and get some "nice" pictures before sunset. Well, that didn't last long. Hannah Claire was chasing Pappy and ended up soaking wet.
We had such a great time with Nana & Pappy at the beach. I think little miss is going to absolutely love the beach which is good for this family!
