Happy Turkey Day

From our family to yours:
This Thanksgiving we have so much to be thankful for.  We are thankful for our family and friends, our freedom, our health, our careers, and many many other things.  Most importantly we are thankful for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  On this Thanksgiving we pray that you and your family will be blessed beyond measure.

It was not planned that the picture of our family was from a game but we are thankful for a 11-0 season and #1 ranked team.  Roll Tide!

6 Months

Okay, so I only got one post in last week.  Life has been a little crazy around here.  On November 9th, we celebrated 6 months of life with Hannah Claire.  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful, smart, funny, sweet, beautiful baby.  She is perfect!  Even when she was sick she was still a good baby.  Here is a shot of her after we took her temperature (about a million times).  She is so smart she covered her ear so we wouldn't do it again.  Pretty advanced for a 6 month old?  I think so.

We did the traditional pictures in the red chair.  You may notice our child is playing with her sock.  This is one of her favorite toys now.  Yes, we know it is a choking hazard so we keep a close eye on her.

Don't get my sock....

Hannah Claire's dexterity has really improved.  She is very good at picking up things.  She is very good at working her pacy too.  Here she picked it up off of the floor and went straight to her mouth.  What a genius!

She is a good eater most of the time.  She is not big on the cleanup afterwards.  What a pitiful face?

Our 6 month checkup was also a sick kid visit.  Hannah Claire had her first cold which turned into ear infections in both ears.  Thankfully we are all better now.  Here was HC snuggling with Daddy.

and a little time with Mommy

Hannah Claire also had her first experience in a high chair in a restaurant.  Usually we just leave her in her pumpkin seat, but since she is such a big girl and sits so well, we gave it a try.  She did great.  Her favorite was staring at the little girl in the high chair at the next table.

We like to play some after dinner too.  A little practice for feeding ourself later in life.

Catching Up

Sorry there hasn't been much updating lately.  We have been very busy.  Hannah Claire had a little cold which turned into her first ear infections.  Yuck!  We are very proud to say that she is much better and all smiles again.  She is really a great baby.  Even when she had ear infections in both ears she was still a delight to be around.  Now though she is all smiles and giggles.  Hopefully I will figure out how to do the video thing one day so that everyone can see her cutting up.  In the mean time, I hope to get several updates in this week.

HC got to attend her first baby shower.  Well, first one out of the belly.  Our good friend Heidi is having a sweet baby girl, Lillian, in January.  We got to celebrate a few Sundays ago.  You can see how excited Hannah Claire was to attend the shower.

We debated if she would stay home with Daddy or go with Mommy.  Daddy needed to finish up some projects around the house so it was off to the shower.  HC was very glad she got to go.  She made quick friends with another little girl there.  How sweet are they?

Here is a shot of HC and the mommy-to-be.  We are so excited for Heidi and Brad and can't wait to meet Lillian.

Hannah Claire has a new favorite thing to do.  She loves to put her lips together and blow spit everywhere.  She also likes to do this while she is eating her veggies.  Needless to say they end up everywhere!  Here are some action shots.  Notice all of the slobber on her face.  She is hilarious.

We haven't posted and Bama pictures lately so here are a few from Homecoming.  Hannah Claire finally got to sport her new cheerleading outfit.  We tried the game before but the snaps malfunctioned and the outfit had to be returned.  Thankfully Bama Fever was great because we didn't have a receipt.  They just let us swap it, no problems.  I am forever a customer because of their great customer service.  (Sorry, sidebar.)  HC loves her cheerleading outfit.  She is excited to get on the road to Tuscaloosa to see the Tide play!

Nana and Pappy didn't make it to this game so we strolled around campus.  HC loved exploring Mommy & Daddy's alma mater.  (Maybe hers too one day)

She is already practicing her yelling during the game!

Since Nana & Pappy were not there HC had her own seat.  If she only could have sat there.  The cheerleading outfit is slick on those chairs and she kept sliding down.  It was a good idea in theory.  Oh well.

6 Month Photo Shoot

Sunday marked 6 wonderful months of life for Hannah Claire. To celebrate we had pictures made. Now at 3 months she did fantastic. We went to Portrait Innovations and she hammed it up. For this trip she was not feeling too well. Not to mention that everyone and their brother was there getting Christmas pictures made. We had an appointment so we could get her at her best. We schedule the appointment around naptime and food time. At the risk of sounding like Seinfeld, don't schedule appointments if you are not going to follow them. We arrived at 3:50pm for our time. We didn't get pictures until around 5pm. HC passed her optimal time and we were stuck working with what we had. We got a few good ones but she didn't give us much. Plus the dude kept calling her Hannah. I thought this would not bother me, but it does. When you ask what her name is and I say "Hannah Claire" please call her Hannah Claire!!! I think it makes her angry too. She didn't give the guy much at all. Here were some of our good ones.

Our little lady!

"What, am I not suppose to have this?"

She kinda looks like a turtle in this picture but I loved how focused she was on the book. Smart girl.

I felt like the family pictures were too posed. Plus she didn't smile in one of them. Oh well, that's what you get with babies I guess.

One of Those Days

The Miller Family was not very excited this morning. As Christians we were not big fans of Obama. We are against abortion and same sex marriage. These are two items clearly addressed in the Bible. To us they are non-negotiables. These two issues alone were reasons we voted for McCain/Palin. There were many more but these were the main ones. Needless to say we are extremely concerned for our country. Maybe having a child makes us that more concerned. Anyways, things just went crazy today. One thing after another. So we decided to focus on the blessings in our lives. Throughout the day we would text one another with things we were thankful for. Some serious, some silly. It helped. A few examples: our freedom to openly worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the beautiful leaves, Alabama being ranked #1 and biscuits. (I told you some were silly, but very important.) After a long day I picked up Hannah Claire from school and was heading home. I pass a church on the way home. The sign put everything in perspective. It read:

"I can face another day because He lives"

Sometimes God is more direct than others. I got the message loud and clear today. Give it to Him, so that is what I'm trying to do.

Happy Halloween

Despite a little cold that just would not go away, Hannah Claire's first Halloween was a huge success.  We had so much fun.  Hannah Claire loves her exersaucer and at one point her favorite toy on it was the cow.  This was when we ordered her outfit so here is our little cow.
This is HC in her bed at school.  Even cows need a nap.

We went to a neighborhood festival to kickoff the evening.  Even though HC is a little too young for most of the festivities, she (well we) had fun.

We saw some of our friends from church at the festival.  Taylor is only 1 month older than HC.  She was a sunshine.  Too cute!

We also saw Eve.  HC had a good time cutting up her.  Somehow we missed a picture of her sweet girl who was dressed as Pocahontas.  She was adorable!

We went to the party with our great friend Emily.  As you can see Hannah Claire was very intrigued by her pumpkins.

After the festival we went back to Ron and Emily's house for some pizza and some yummy apple dip.  Emily's sister and her family met us there.  She has two little boys that were very excited to go trick-or-treating.  The older was Anakin Skywalker and the younger was C3PO.  They looked great.  Anakin was very excited however C3PO only made it to 1 house.  When you are "1 years old" you get tired real easy.  Hannah Claire made the first round of trick-or-treating before bed.  Here she is heading to her first house ever.  Notice the anticipation in her eyes.

What fun!  No candy but lots of fun at our first house.

After a few houses we finished the night and headed home for bed.  We had so much fun and look forward to next year when HC can have as much fun as Mommy and Daddy:-)
