The Miller Family was not very excited this morning. As Christians we were not big fans of Obama. We are against abortion and same sex marriage. These are two items clearly addressed in the Bible. To us they are non-negotiables. These two issues alone were reasons we voted for McCain/Palin. There were many more but these were the main ones. Needless to say we are extremely concerned for our country. Maybe having a child makes us that more concerned. Anyways, things just went crazy today. One thing after another. So we decided to focus on the blessings in our lives. Throughout the day we would text one another with things we were thankful for. Some serious, some silly. It helped. A few examples: our freedom to openly worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the beautiful leaves, Alabama being ranked #1 and biscuits. (I told you some were silly, but very important.) After a long day I picked up Hannah Claire from school and was heading home. I pass a church on the way home. The sign put everything in perspective. It read:
Sometimes God is more direct than others. I got the message loud and clear today. Give it to Him, so that is what I'm trying to do.

GREAT post! LOVE that you guys spent the day texting things you're grateful for. That's awesome!
Biscuits...great one!
On that note, I'm thankful for Pillsbury Toaster Streudels. LOVE then! Don't ever buy them, but I'm thankful that they're there should I ever need them. :)
Amen! We had a hard time Yesterday too! We survived Clinton, surely we will survive Obama.
Great Post! As I said on Wednesday, I think your approach of focusing on the positives is a wonderful way to put things back in perspective. Wish that I would have had that piece of wisdom earlier in the day so maybe it wouldn't have been so rough! :)
So great that you guys chose to focus on the positive! I have also been pondering (and plan on posting soon) about how I am so thankful for the freedom that we have to worship God and share Him with others without fear of what may happen to us. I know I have taken that one for granted for far too long. God is definitely in control and He will take care of us!!!
