We took a family trip to Gulf Shores to celebrate our seven year marriage anniversary. Normally we would want to celebrate sans kids but since with a newborn the kids got to go with us this year. We had a great time and some time away was much needed. We headed down on a Wednesday morning. We made a stop at Lambert's in Foley for some lunch. It was perfect because we it after the lunch rush and we walked right in and were seated. After being in the car for so long we were all glad to be out of the car. There might have even been some dancing at the table by a certain 3 year old. When we left it was time to check in to the condo. Once we unloaded we headed down to the beach for some fun in the sand and sun. Don't worry, Wyatt was well covered the entire time. He was under two SPF umbrellas most of the time.
Thursday we spent lots of time at the beach and in the pool. Our normal routine consisted of heading to the beach and spending a few hours then hitting the pool before lunch and nap time. then pool and finishing the day back at the beach. Every single time we went to the beach HC would complain about the sand and say she didn't like it. What she didn't like was the walk across the sand. Once we were there she loved it! She did ask a lot to go to the "other blue water". This was in reference to the pool. She loved the pool because she could jump and splash and not have little fish nibbling on her like they were in the gulf.
After a full day of playing we got all dressed up and headed to Lulu's for dinner. We were not sure where all we should eat. Thanks to Facebook and Twitter we received many great suggestions. Although it is the touristy place we did want to catch Lulu's. The food was good but the atmosphere makes it.
Friday we decided to go out for lunch to break up the day, plus it was super hot that day. It worked great. Please excuse Wyatt's pink umbrella. I'm sure he will get to use other pink things in the future.
