Christmas Eve 2010

Christmas Eve was a fun filled day. We woke up to find Buddy the Elf had created a mess in Hannah Claire's room. This was the first year we welcomed Buddy into our home. HC was very skeptical at first but warmed up to him over the Christmas season. When Shane first told her about Buddy and that he got into mischief at night she said "let's close that door and that door" (speaking of the doors to her room). Christmas Eve morning he had strewn stuff all over HC's room. She woke up yelling "he's in here, he's in here".

Mawmaw and Pawpaw got in early so we could spend some time together and celebrate Mawmaw's birthday! She got some help opening her birthday gifts.

HC wondering what to get into next.

We had some scrumptious Tate's BBQ before we got ready for the Christmas Eve service at Highlands. It was amazing!

After church we came home and ate our Christmas dinner. It was so good and we were stuffed but there was still lots to do. A sweet, sweet lady at work had given HC some reindeer food to sprinkle in the yard. She was very excited to put it out.

After that we opened our one Christmas Eve present.

We all got a pair of Christmas pj's! I think HC's was the most fun though.

We even caught a sweet moment between Mawmaw & Pawpaw!

Next we got to work on our Christmas cookies. Now before you see the pictures, we didn't give the cookies to anyone to eat. We rolled out the dough, cut the cookies and got good and messy.

Once the cookies were baked, HC was ready to start the decorating.

We get this look al the time. Who knows what it is about.

And our very fancy decorated cookies! I hope Santa enjoyed.

After our cookies we got ready for bed so Daddy could read The Night Before Christmas and then we got some much needed r&r for the big day.
