Tubes

So I found some pictures on our old camera that I never loaded on the computer so these are a little old but this day needed to be documented.  Back on April 17th Hannah Claire had tubes put in both ears.  Now we heard how easy it was but as a mommy & daddy you are nervous.  Everything went perfectly smooth.  We arrived very early that morning.  Since it was at Children's there was tons of fun stuff for HC to play with.  She had a big time while we were waiting.  When they first took us back they did some vital checks.  She was very skeptical about the blood pressure cuff.

Then they checked her pulse and she was not digging this.  All it was was a bandage type wrap around the tip of her finger.  What a pitiful face.

Then they took us to our room to wait our turn.  The paperwork that they gave us recommended that we bring something from home that HC likes.  She doesn't really have lovey or blankie but she does have her Tigger.  She LOVES Tigger!  She sleeps with Tigger, kisses Tigger, hugs Tigger and even tackles him.  So we brought him along for the day.

We didn't have to wait very long but when you have an active young'un you have to find the toys.  Daddy found a wagon for some cruisin.  Hannah Claire loved the ride.  As she was rolling down the halls she waved at everyone she passed by.  The wagon even got hit by a busy nurse who swung open the door.  HC looked at her like she was crazy.

They came and got us and we took her to the door where we covered her in kisses and prayers.  We went back to our room and snacked on some animal crackers.  In less than 10 minutes the doctor was in the room telling how great everything had gone and we had HC back in just a few more minutes. She was groggy and hungry (since it was naptime and she had not had any breakfast).  They gave us a bottle of diluted juice for her and she guzzled it down.  After she drank it we were free to leave.

Hannah Claire had nice long nap and woke up ready to play.  We are so thankful for the doctors, nurses and staff at Children's South.  They did a fabulous job.  Since then we have had ZERO infections!!!  I'm so thankful that God has given people the wisdom to be able to help others.  So to all you mommies and daddies who may have to go through this in the future, it is really not bad at all.
