Hannah Claire got her first Christmas present delivered to our door before we ever left for Hawaii. Her sweet friend Isabella sent a gift.
As you can see, Hannah Claire had no problems ripping into her gift.
HC loved her safari truck and the animals.
The truck actually goes on its own. Hannah Claire was so mesmerized. She followed it all around the room.
You push the smokestack to make it sing. HC found multiple ways to push the button.
We made it back from Hawaii and immediately started up the Christmas festivities. We spent Tuesday night unpacking, washing clothes, and repacking. Meanwhile we were running last minute errands and trying to take care of our sick little girl. Yes, HC got bronchitis while we were gone. It definitely makes a mommy question leaving her little one for so long. (She is much better now, praise God!) Wednesday morning we did our Christmas together, just the 3 of us. We had so much fun. I'm pretty sure HC did too. None of the pictures opening gifts turned out well.
This was the best one we got.
One of our family's traditions is stockings from Santa. It didn't take Hannah Claire long to figure out that there were toys inside (once she got past the bibs).
(Notice the tree. We copied this idea from one of our friends and I love it. We hung all of our picture Christmas cards on the tree. It turned out so cute and we got to see everyone's pretty picture throughout the Christmas season. This will be our new tradition so please keep the picture cards coming. They are one of my favorite things of the season. HC loved it too. She would ooh and aah every evening when we opened the new cards.)
Later that day I picked up some of our friends, Aaron and JC at the airport. Then Shane took them to our church Christmas program. I kept HC at home since she was not feeling well. Plus there was lots of packing and loading to do so we could head to Florence for Christmas. We finally arrived at Nana's around 6:30pm and the Sartain family (old family friends) came over for our annual Christmas Eve dinner. It was so much fun to see the kids. They were actually in our wedding. I however forgot to take 1 single picture. I'm so sad about that. I will blame that on jet lag. We were so tired we went to bed without even opening 1 gift on Christmas Eve. We have always opened 1 gift each on Christmas Eve. That was when Jack gave my Mom her engagement ring, so it is kinda a big deal. Oh well, life goes on. We woke up Christmas morning and the fun began. Hannah Claire had so much fun ripping into her presents from Nana.
The paper sure was yummy! (No Nana didn't give her Victoria's Secret. That was just the box her new clothes were wrapped in. :))
This was her big gift from Nana. It is a little wooden thing that she can push around. She LOVES it. She thinks she is a big girl standing up without our help.
This will be the first of many. Daddy putting things together on Christmas. Thanks Daddy!!!
Every year on Christmas night we all go to my grandparent's house. My mom is one of 5 kids so there are tons of us there. I think we counted 28 this year. There is one more on the way for next year. My cousin Miranda is pregnant with her first! It is loud and crazy and the food is awesome!
Here is HC helping Pappy open his gift from Granny Sue and Papa John. Undershirts, I think he may need them. :) Nana is holding HC's baby doll from Granny Sue & Papa John. It is so soft and as big as HC.
The day after Christmas we headed to Scottsboro for the Miller Family Christmas. Again, HC got spoiled and we had great food and good times with family.
Janet gave Wendy Lynn at riding horse. She was not so sure about it but HC loved it. She showed Wendy Lynn how to ride it.
We really had a special Christmas. We got to see friends and family and celebrate the birth of our Savior. We ate and ate and ate. We watched our precious little girl experience her first Christmas. Really it just doesn't get any better than that.

Cute pictures!! I love the cards on the Christmas tree too!
Yes, I have the Nikon D60, and I still have a lot to learn. The class was great though.
By the way, I'm loving the list of baby things you sent long ago!!
