Happy Father's Day 2012

I guess it has been so long since I blogged that I can't remember how to make it work correctly.  Some of the pictures got out of order and I can't fix it so oh well, here goes.  We had a nice weekend celebrating Shane and the amazing father that he is.   We are so thankful for all that Shane does for our family!  We spent some time playing in the backyard and Wyatt was introduced to the splash pad.
Hannah Claire showed him how it was done but he was somewhat skeptical.
Big Sis makes it better though.
Mom got some snuggles even though it was Father's Day weekend.
Daddy's girl!
This little fellow gets fired up when the dogs are around.
The kids even got to play around in the bathtub together.
We also fried up that big, huge, gianormous fish I caught in Amelia Island.  The grease got a little hot but we figured it out and it was scrumptious.
The kids were excited to give Daddy what they made for him at school.
Dad used his best way of thanking a certain little boy and he loved it!
Hannah Claire filled out a questionnaire about Shane.  It was priceless.
- My Dad is 20-20-20 years old.
- His hair is black and his eyes are green.
- My Dad likes to wear red shirts.
- He loves to eat mac-n-cheese & Habaneros.
- He is smart because he knows cleans up, works hard, brushes his teeth.
- My Dad works hard at going somewhere to eat & driving fast.
- Daddy always tells me he loves me & I'm smart because I clean.
- It makes Daddy happy when I put stuff on the counter so Wyatt won't break it.
- If he could go on a trip he would go to Sam's & he would take HC & Wyatt (if Mommy is at a meeting).
- I really love it when my Dad plays in my room and puts on pjs.
- If I could give my Daddy anything it would be diapers, clothes, or toys or whatever he needs, and his lunch box.
- My favorite thing about my Dad is hugs and kisses.
A few more of Wyatt playing outside.
So Mom about had a breakdown at Academy trying to buy Daddy a new grill for his father's day present.  The one I wanted was put together and it wouldn't fit in my car.  All of the people with a truck were out of town until Sunday.  They sold out of the grills, all six of them on Friday so I couldn't buy it.  I then searched high and low to find another one.  Poor Dad got to witness the almost breakdown on Saturday morning.  Thankfully he is a patient man and was rewarded with an even better grill that was purchased on Black Friday.  Yep, that would be the day after Thanksgiving.  I told you he was patient. Haha!!!  Thank you Shane for being such an amazing Daddy and husband to our family.  We are so thankful for you and the man you are in Christ!  We LOVE you!!!

Amelia Island

These are the peeps I get to thank for two wonderful trips!  Shane's team has earned a trip two years in a row!  We get to go somewhere fun and spend time together, without kids!  This year we spent a long weekend in Amelia Island.  It was a great get away and very relaxing.  We didn't see the sun the entire time we were there but we didn't mind one bit.  The first night we had a reception and dinner together.  The rest of the trip was time on our own, we usually ended up with some other couples because they have a fun group!

Shane and I snuck away for a romantic dinner one night.  We took some pictures of each other before one of his teammates and his wife showed up at the same restaurant.  So we had a nice romantic dinner for 4.
The next day was our big excursion.  We had planned to go deep sea fishing.  This was a first for me and I was excited.  Sadly we were not sure if we would actually get to go because of the weather and waves.  We decided to head out and stay in the backwater.  Here is our group before we had to spit onto two boats.
Our boat was the best, of course!  The water was pretty choppy but it was still great to be out and doing something beach/water related.
Mindy was the first to real in something.  It turned out to be a baby shark.
Shane was the next with a little bit bigger of a baby shark.  Are you noticing a pattern?  There were a lot of baby sharks caught on our excursion.  Makes me rethink swimming in the ocean.  Just saying...
Zane reeled in the big daddy shark.  Again, not sure about getting into that water again.
I may have been the last to reel something in but I made mine count.
He was a fighter and my arms were like jello when he finally got to the boat. They kept saying reel and then let him run.  I guess they knew what they were talking about but it seemed like he was running more than I was reeling.
He was the only "real" fish caught on either boat.  He was a drum and you could literally hear him drumming in the cooler.
Mindy thought she had one to beat me.
She caught a stingray!  Yes, the kind that can kill you.  She got her picture made with him and back into the water he went.
Here is one more shot of my catch of the day before he got filleted for the trip back to Alabama.  We brought him home and cooked him up.  He was quite tasty!
The last night almost everyone went to eat together.  We had so much fun and I look forward to another trip next year!!!

Working on Walking

Back at the first of June our little guy was trying his best to start walking.  He thought it was hilarious to try and walk.  You just never know what that little guy is laughing about but he is almost always laughing.

Wyatt's Dedication

June 3, 2012 we dedicated Christopher Wyatt Miller to our Lord.  This is such a special time and something we take extremely serious.  We are committed to raising our kids in a home filled with the love of Jesus.  We don't always succeed but we try.  This was our outward commitment to raising our son in a Christian home and teaching everything we possibly can about the ultimate sacrifice made for our sins.  We pray that this will be Wyatt's first big day but that he will make the decision to be in relationship with Christ one day.  We were so thankful that Nana and Pappy could join us.  All of the families are prayed over.
Praying didn't stop Hannah Claire from cheesing it up.
Our sweet family!  I'm so thankful for each one of them.
Don't worry, Nana and Pappy got some cuddles and playtime in too.

Zoo Time

We made a fun Saturday morning trip to the zoo.  Wyatt was very excited about it!
The new Trails of Africa exhibit at the zoo is really nice.  HC and Daddy had fun banging on the drums.
After checking out some animals Hannah Claire was ready to hit the splash pad.
Silly girl!
She even danced for us.
Wyatt had some fun watching big sister play.
He even blew her some kisses.
Two handsome men!
We had to hit the carousel once HC was out of her wet swimsuit.  She loved it!
