11 Months

So I just realized I never posted red chair pictures from 11 months.  I had to put them up so we would have every month documented for the first year, which is quickly approaching!  

We have to take as many pictures as quickly as possible or this what we deal with:

Stairs? Seriously?

Hannah Claire keeps us on our toes since she is all over the place crawling.  We are constantly "redirecting" her.  On April 2nd HC found the stairs.  I really didn't think much about them since she is not walking.  Oh was I wrong!  I grabbed the camera and Shane stuck with HC to make sure she didn't fall. 

What?  I'm not doing anything!

We now have a gate at the bottom of the stairs.  

He is Risen!

We got up on Easter morning for some celebrating.  What a wonderful day to know that we are celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!

After HC's bottle we directed her towards her Easter basket.  She spotted her push cart and took off.  She didn't even notice that the easter bunny had hidden an egg on it.  

She was not too happy that we took her off of her push cart.  She is very focused when something is on her mind. 

She forgot about hit when she realized there were things in the basket for her!  Her favorite, the book and her least favorite, the hat.  She forgot about it and we got several pictures with it.  (We went for a walk with it the other day, I had to pick it up off of the ground at least 12 times!)

She also got a bucket that is to rinse shampoo out of the hair.  Mommy was very excited about this.  The good thing about being behind on posting is that you know how these things will work.  This doesn't!  It probably works great for an older kid but since HC leans back even further and pushes the bucket so that it poors directly into her face, it defeats the purpose.  I had such high hopes and it may work one day. 

The e.b. thought it might be good for HC to try a sippy cup with a straw.  She knew exactly what to do with it but was frustrated that there was nothing in it.  We are still working on it. 

After we rummaged through the easter basket we hunted the eggs.  HC did a great job.  She would spot one and take off. 

After she found it she would bang it on the floor.  Yes, they were hard-boiled and yes, she cracked them.  She loved it so we didn't stop her.  We had a great Easter and we pray you did too!  

Egg Hunt with the Morris Boys

I have posted pictures of our good friends the Morris family before.  They have a little boy that is only 2 weeks younger than Hannah Claire.  They also have a 3 year old (that some how avoided my camera this trip, not sure how that happened).  They live in Texas so we don't get to see them a lot but we love when we do.  They were in town for Easter and Honey (the boys grandmother) had an egg hunt on Saturday morning.  It was so much fun to see the older kids running around and HC & Evan hanging out together.  Here they were when they first saw each other.  They apparently like to mimic one another. 

We found an egg on the hunt!  Well, I actually put it down to find because the older kids were extremely skilled at finding any and every egg that was out in the yard.  Hannah Claire quickly spotted it.

Being the diva she is, she didn't want to touch the dirt.  I mean seriously is this my child?  She finally picked it up, after we shooed away a kid or too with a good eye.  They also tried to get some out of her basket sitting on the ground.  I mean these kids meant business!

After she picked up her eggs she watched the other kids running around the yard.

We brought some of our "special" eggs from school the day before.  They were full of cheerios and puffs.  Can I just say that is a dream for two 11 month olds.  We sat on the porch and they dined on some snacks.  On a side note I just love those rolls on HC's legs!!!!

It was a little chilly so we moved into the house.  Hannah Claire found Evan's car.  He was not very happy but he let her play with it.  Who said chivalry was dead?

Hannah Claire gave Mrs Jamie some love before we left.  She didn't want to let go.  How sweet!

We had so much fun.  Thank you Rowan and Sheila for having us over.  We loved seeing you guys and look forward to seeing you again soon.  

Good Friday

Last week was madness so I'm way behind again on posting.  Look for lots of updates to come this week.  I have the rest of Easter and 11 month pictures plus a few other surprises!  On Good Friday we kicked off the Easter weekend with food, family and worship.  It really just doesn't get any better than that!  After Hannah Claire's Easter egg hunt at school we came home and got dinner going.  We had our big Easter dinner and went to church as a family on Friday night.  We had a few things to get done before hand though.  First off we had to dye some eggs.  Now I know that HC didn't really get to do it herself but since her Daddy and I love dying eggs we now have a great excuse, um I mean reason, to break out the dye kit. Hannah Claire really did enjoy watching the process.

She was really focused on the eggs.

She spent most of the time hanging with Mawmaw and Pawpaw while Mommy and Daddy did the dirty work.

We got to sit down at the dining room table and eat off of our nice china for dinner.  It was fabulous!  While we were eating the UPS guy showed up with a gift from the Easter bunny/Nana.  HC wasn't too concerned about ripping the paper so Mommy had to open it for her.

HC loves her new safari bear.  He is so cool.  You can think of any type of kids toy, it is on here.  Rattle, check.  Mirror, check.  Book, check.  Velcro, check.  Squeaky thing, check.  Pull string and vibrate, check.  You get the point.  I could keep going though.  Thanks Nana!

Sadly, I forgot to take pictures of us all dressed up for church.  I have gotten so much better but still forget when we get in a hurry.  We were concerned how HC would do in the nursery since church started at 7pm, which is her normal bedtime.  As always she did great.  They told us she was the only one that didn't get fussy!  We were very proud!!!

Egg Hunt at School

Hannah Claire played hooky from school on Friday because her Mawmaw and Pawpaw came for a visit.  We did make a trip to school for the Easter egg hunt.  Hannah Claire had lots of fun even though she was a little sleepy.  I mean we had a good nap before hand but I guess that is just what kids will do for you.

There was a big bouncy thing at school.  We were not sure how the little ones would like it but it went pretty well.  Only one cried to get off (and it was not HC, yea!).

I love this face.  She has started giving it us when she is not sure or she does not like something.  I'm pretty sure this one was an "I'm not sure" face.

Hannah Claire's other teacher, Ms Alison jumped each kiddo.  As you can see, HC has a death grip on her.  

She got use to it and even enjoyed it some.  Here she was cutting up with her buddy Leah.

Who knows what this look is about?  It is cute though.

Hannah Claire Meets the Easter Bunny

We went on Tuesday evening to meet the Easter bunny.  After our experience with Santa we fully expected a complete meltdown.  I will just let you see how it progressed in pictures (since you know that is what we do on this blog).

Mommy turned around to talk to HC about the Easter Bunny and see how she was holding up.

She quickly dove around me to keep a watchful eye on that sneaky bunny.

We had to wait a few minutes even though there was no line.  The computer system for pictures had to be rebooted so we had time to observe.  Once it was our turn, Mommy sat Hannah Claire down and quickly tried to straighten her dress for a quick picture before the meltdown.

And then, there it was.  No no, not a meltdown, A SMILE!  Hannah Claire loves the Easter Bunny!  Go figure!  Just say no to Santa but YES to the Easter bunny!
