Wyatt's First Trip to Pawpaw's

Miller party of four loaded up for our first trip since Wyatt's arrival. We got to spend some quality time with Pawpaw. Wyatt was enjoying his time as soon as we got there.
After a Saturday trip up to Pikeville for some yummy burgers we got to be entertained by Wyatt. He showed out for Pawpaw. We got to see the "I'm falling" look, the giggle, they yawn, the sneeze, the dimple, and belly laugh. He is quite the performer.
Pawpaw got a little more loving in before while we loaded up.
Before we headed out we did see the biggest spider I have ever seen in my life! I mean seriously!!! The picture does not even do it justice, it was HUGE!

Wyatt at 1 Month

Wow, where did that first month go? I just thought time flew by with Hannah Claire. The day of the one month mark we got pictures made by our super sweet friend Amanda. She came to our house so we busy getting ready that morning. We got a little nervous when HC disappeared and got real quiet. Knowing Wyatt was laying on a blanket in his room caused us to sprint to see what was going on. We were pleasantly surprised at what we found. What a great big sister!
Our family was beyond blessed when this little guy arrived. He is so much fun. He has been a good sleeper ever since he was born. He is also a good nap taker! He is up to a whopping 10 lbs. 10 ozs. and 22.5 in. long. Our big boy is still growing. All three of us love to shower those chubby cheeks with kisses. He likes it too. Our first month with Wyatt has seen some trying times while we transition to having a new baby in the house but also some of the most amazing and rewarding moments as a family. We love you Wyatt Miller and praise God for sharing you with our family.

The Carters Visit

It is crazy to look back just 8 short years ago and think that I lived in Anniston next door to my friend and coworker, Heidi. We were both single and spent lots of time together. I was the "husband" of the relationship performing all the handyman duties (even when I was on pain meds from getting my wisdom teeth cut out). Now we are both married with two kids each. Wow we have come a long way. The boys in our lives now posed for a picture.
Our little ladies had a blast playing together. They got out every single toy in Hannah Claire's room. I think it is time we clean some of them out. We asked the girls to pose for a picture and they both did but not together so we asked them to hug. That totally worked! We don't get to see the Carter family often enough but you would never know it by seeing these two together.

Family Times

We saw from day one the precious dimple on Wyatt's left cheek (just like his big sister's). What we did not notice until a little later was the dimple on the right cheek. I love these precious cheeks!
Wyatt is a go with the flow, laid back kind of kid. He cries if he is hungry, sleepy or has a dirty diaper and that is pretty much it. He likes to smile and cooh at us.
He does tense up a little when Hannah Claire comes calling but he loves her and will smile and grin at her. He even tries his best to talk to her.
Nana and Pappy stopped by to pick up Hannah Claire for a weekend trip up to Florence. Pappy held Wyatt for the first time. We had to snap a picture because this is such a rare occurrence. Pappy prefers kids that can hold up their heads.
We have been practicing our tummy time. When we do it without the boppy it is often short lived and ends with a screaming baby boy.
We headed up to Athens to pickup HC from Nana and Pappy and also meet Pawpaw and Aunt Janet for some lunch. We had a great time hanging out in Lawler's BBQ and visiting with family. Pawpaw got his loving in on Wyatt.
Aunt Janet and Wyatt finally got to meet. Big sister was supervising all visiting that happened.
"Brody" as HC calls him was done with the love from Sister.
When she is not looking out for "Brody" she is a supermodel.
Who wouldn't want to hug the pig?

Aunt Lorie & Wyatt

Aunt Lorie kept the tradition alive and came to stay with us after Wyatt's arrival. We were so thankful since her new job has her working all the time and traveling so we had not seen her since Christmas! That is way too long for all of us. As Hannah Claire says, "we haven't seen Aunt "Loliee" for a long long time". We had a blast spending time with her. HC adores Lorie and has a blast with her. They spent most of the evenings up stairs in HC's big girl room playing games and reading books. Lorie had given HC "Rainbow Fish" for her birthday which we read every single night for over a month. Hannah Claire was reading (reciting) it to us by end of the month. ADORABLE! Well, Aunt "Loliee" didn't disappoint this trip either. She brought HC a new book called "Shoe La La". It is so cute and perfect for shopping queen HC. We have now read it every night since Lorie left. I don't even mind it since it is so fun to hear HC say "snuzzy" instead of fuzzy and "ritzy, glitzy, glamour girls".

During the days while Hannah Claire was at school Lorie got to spend some time with Wyatt. They had a blast and he thought she was just as grand as his sister does.
Thank you Aunt Lorie for coming to visit. We all love you and can't wait to see you again!

Settling In

We spent the month of July adjusting to life with two kids. You forget how much work a newborn is. Then you add a very active three year old, whew! We had lots of visitors and some delicious food throughout the month. We are so thankful such great friends and family. We kept forgetting to take pictures. We did get one of Tanya spending time with Wyatt.
There has been lots of time to spend with this sweet chunky love!
Hannah Claire loves to love on Wyatt. She adores him and is still learning how to be gentle with him. He gets a little nervous when she gets around but that does not stop her.
Spending so much time at home, Hannah Claire got creative in her playing. She put on a fashion show in her new swimsuit. I think this kid would wear a swimsuit everyday if it was appropriate.
She has also taken a liken to playing games on my iPhone. It is amazing to see kids operate these phones. She can make it do things I have no clue how she did it (for example change the language and lock me out of using it). Thanks kid!
Wyatt started staying awake more. We got out his play mat. It was hit at first, but quickly wore off.
He still sleeps a lot and is a great nighttime sleeper. I love those big chubby cheeks!
