This year we started lots of new traditions for Christmas. One was being home for Christmas eve and morning. We went to the one o'clock service at church and then headed home to meet Mawmaw & Pawpaw. Christmas eve is Mawmaw's birthday so we had some celebrating to do. Hannah Claire did tell her "pappy birfhdaa mawmaw". We had some yummy taco soup and then got started on the fun stuff. Hannah Claire put on her baking hat. She thought this hat was hilarious! She was right.
We started mixing up our cookies so we could do some decorating. HC loved stirring (well maybe playing) in the cookie dough.
Once the cookies cooled we broke out the icing and sprinkles. When we were at Publix buying stuff I picked up some red icing and green sprinkles. Hannah Claire was fussy and grabbed a bottle of pink sprinkles. This kept her quite and was sealed so we pressed on. I forget how smart and strong she is. Over by the meat freezer we hear it....sprinkles hitting the floor. So we had green & pink sprinkles for our cookies. I didn't really know how the decorating would go, but HC really enjoyed it. Plus the whole group got involved.
Hannah Claire decorated some cookies all by herself (after Mommy squeezed some icing out because it was hard to squeeze).
The cookies will be a yearly event. Now I need to learn how to make them better. They were a little hard once they cooled.
Once we finished up Daddy read the Night Before Christmas and Hannah Claire went to bed to await the arrival of the big day!
