Happy Halloween 2009

We spent Halloween with some great friends. Hannah Claire had a blast. We were a little concerned she would not dig her costume. Boy were we wrong. She LOVED it! She wore it to school on Friday. When I picked her up this was the conversation I had with her teacher.

Miss Jenni - We had to take Hannah Claire's costume off not long after she got here.
Me - What? Why? Did she not like it because she loved it at home?
Miss Jenni - Oh no, Hannah Claire love it, but the other kids were chasing her around pulling her tail.
Sometimes mommies don't think of the little things. Crazy kids!

Ok, back to Halloween night. We went over the the Cryer's home and had chilli before we got on the hayride to go trick-or-treaking. HC was ready to go.
I love that precious tail!!!
We had a trailer bed full of kiddos. They had a blast!
Parent's were instructed to dress up too. Shane & I were white trash before but my costume no longer fits (post HC). Although Shane had a great costume he was probably not the funniest.
That would be Ron. Not only did he provide the hayride for us, he put together quite the costume. He also did performances in the middle of the road while the kids were hitting the homes up for candy.
Hannah Claire learned the routine real quick.
She would let them put some candy in her bag and then try to bust a move around the home owner into their house. Thank goodness for the tail so we could rein our little trespasser back in.
She liked the sucker, wrapper & all.
She did NOT like the giant spider. Poor baby!
We had so much fun! Hannah Claire enjoyed her candy once we got home. She didn't get any, well except for the starburst she managed to open out of the two pack and chew up halfway with the wrapper still on. That pretty much put a stop to playing with the candy.

Pumpkin Carving

We decided to carve a pumpkin with Hannah Claire this year. I was thinking, oh this will be so much fun. I didn't really expect her to play in the goop because she is such a girl. I did think she would enjoy being outside or with us or anything really. She didn't, to any of them.
She clinged to my leg. I'm not real sure how that was going to save her from the pumpkin but oh well.
Shane thought she might like to help him. Nope!
Oh well, Mommy & Daddy had fun. :)

Just Silly

Shane's Aunt Janet has an adorable little granddaughter, Wendy Lynn. Wendy Lynn had her picture made in an adorable bunny jacket. Aunt Janet wanted HC to get her picture made in it too. HC was not very happy about interrupting her play time for some silly pictures. (BTW I'm not sure what is on the tv behind her.)
But our little ham warmed up and put on a little show for us. Thank you Aunt Janet for sharing the adorable coat with us.
One of Hannah Claire's favorite things to do is play "dress-up". She loves to put on our shoes and go for a little walk.

Bama vs. UT

The Bama vs. UT game is always lots of fun! We went down for a fun day of tailgating and celebrating my birthday. One of Hannah Claire's most favorite things to do while tailgating is going to visit Big Al. Not the real Big Al, but the inflatable one that hangs out at an RV down from us. As soon as we pull up she starts pointing and grinning. Of course Nana & Pappy make sure she gets to visit often.
She even likes to blow kisses to the big guy.
Hannah Claire does really well at the games but sometime Mommy & Daddy need to enjoy some time together sans kiddo. The sweetest lady came and watched HC at the motorhome so that we could enjoy the game together. The game was more stressful than anticipated but everything worked out thanks to Mt. Cody!

Homecoming at the Capstone

Okay, so I'm real behind on here. We were in Tuscaloosa for Homecoming at the Capstone. It was so much fun. We started off the day with a walk down sorority row to check out the lawn decorations. Hannah Claire & Mommy had our picture made in front of my home for two years of college. The ZTA's did a great job this year.
HC loved checking it out! I think she recognized "The Catch" from the picture hanging over our couch. She had on her super cute cheerleading outfit but you can't see it because it was too cold and she needed her coat. Trust me she is adorable in it!!!
Daddy & Hannah Claire posed for a quick picture.
After running into some old friends we headed over to the parade and met up with our buddies from Texas, the Morris boys. We love getting to see them which doesn't happen often enough. HC & Evan are only 10 days apart so it's fun to see them together.
Matt was not interested in anything except taking pictures. I think Jamie & Marley have a future photographer on their hands.
We were towards the end of the parade route so we had to wait a while for the fun to get started. We had fun though!
Fun Times! The parade was fun and the kids enjoyed it. HC was not much of a fan of every single truck blowing their horn when they got to us. We finally saw the two little brats, um I mean little girls, doing their arms to the trucks for them to toot their horn. Nice!
It was nap time & snack time when the law school float passed by. Which is the most entertaining float of all. One inebriated young lady called out a passerby in orange. She informed her she was in the wrong town. It was very funny!

Sick Day

Hannah Claire recently spent the week at home. She got hand, foot & mouth. It rolled through her daycare like a freight train. She seemed to feel okay most of the time we just had to let the rash run its course. She got into lots of stuff while at home. She liked to hang with mommy on the couch.
She also helped out with the laundry. I didn't have to go back and refold any shirts at all. (yeah right).
She also got lots of pop-sickles because they felt so good on her throat. She loves them!
HC has also started what most kids do, I guess. She loves to get into the fridge. Sometimes she just sits.
Other times she goes for Jello (which she never eats but it is so appealing to grab).

QB or RB?

The girl has some mad skills. The only question is will she be Mark Ingram...
... or Greg McElroy?
