Week 12

Week 12 was lots of fun.  We are getting into a routine and getting more and more use to life with Hannah Claire.  She is such a blessing and the days are flying by.  Here are some of the pictures from week 12.  Enjoy!

Being a baby is tough work.  HC was playing with her toys and the next thing we knew she was OUT.
Our happy girl.
Our sweet friend Kelly sent Hannah Claire this super soft rug.  Yes it's a rug and it is so soft!  HC loves it.  She likes to lay on it and rub it with her hands.  She also likes to sleep on it.

What she doesn't like is tummy time.  Look at that face.  You would think she is so mistreated.
We started off the week with an outreach project for our church.  Our church did a sermon series called "One Prayer" along with thousands of other churches this summer.  Our small groups went along with the series and we ended the semester with an outreach project to the community.  Hannah Claire is starting early in her service to Jesus and the city.  Here we are delivering food to a retirement home.  She had lots of fun, just like we adults did.
Bath time...what fun!!!
Hannah Claire and I went to meet my Mom in Huntsville for some furniture shopping.  We didn't get much done on that front but we had lots of fun.  Here HC and Nana are in a deep conversation (one of her favorite things to do now).
I love my Nana!
Just showing my smile and my diaper.  What fat rolls?

Week 11

We have been so busy lately.  Hannah Claire is growing so much.  We can hardly believe she will be 3 months old this Saturday.  Her personality is really starting to show.  She is a happy laid-back baby.   Unless of course she is hungry (takes after her mommy).  She is doing great sleeping at night and we are working on the nap thing.  She is not big on napping but as long as we sleep through the night I will not complain.  Here are some pictures from a few weeks ago.  I will put some more up later of last week.
Hannah Claire helping her daddy with check his email.  She is technologically advanced for her age. :)
Meet Mallory the monkey.  I'm not sure if I have posted any pictures of her before, but she is Hannah Claire's favorite.  She likes to hold onto Mallory while she sleeps in her carrier.  She also likes to chew on Mallory, but she checks to make sure no one is watching her.  This is the look we get before she goes in for a "bite".
She spends lots of time napping.  She kicks back and relaxes.

Hannah Claire has a new favorite game.  She likes to stick her tongue out at you.  We were at 5 Guys one night for dinner and she started playing her game with her Daddy.  She would stick her tongue out, then Daddy sticks his tongue out and then HC laughs.  They played for about 20 minutes.  I was almost done eating before Shane even got to start.  He didn't mind because he was having the best time playing with his little girl.
More sleeping...
Daddy set her up in the chair.  She was not so sure about it.  How pitiful is that face?
We had some good friends come for a visit.  JC and Aaron live in Ohio and were in town for a night.  We naturally took Aaron to Dreamland so he could get a true taste of the south.  They loved it and so did Hannah Claire.

My First Vacation

We took a family vacation to the beautiful gulf coast.  It was so much fun to see how Hannah Claire loved one of our favorite places in the world.  There were times we thought how crazy we are to bring a 2 month old to the beach but she had fun and so did we.  We had a great time.  Of course no trip of the Miller family is complete without some sort of event.  We checked in on Wednesday and were so impressed with our room.  As we started to set up the pack-n-play and get stuff out so we could go to the beach we adjusted the thermostat since it was extremely warm in our room.  A few minutes later we realized that the room was not cooling at all.  We called and reported it.  Someone came after just a few minutes.  How great right!  Wrong.  He couldn't fix it so we had to wait on someone else.  Over an hour later he finally shows up.  We kept waiting expecting to have to move rooms.  He still couldn't fix it but wanted to try something else.  Still not sure if we were moving rooms or staying we decided to go to the beach and enjoy and worry about this later.  When we got back still no air and no answer about changing rooms.  Shane and I both took cool showers.  Finally we were told that they could not fix it and we were going to get a new room.  A bellman was on his way with our new room keys and a cart to help us move rooms.  We waited for over an hour again and still no bellman.  It is now 9pm and we are starving.  Finally we gave up went and ate dinner and stopped by the front desk when we got back to get our room keys.  At 11pm we began moving rooms.  It was not the ideal start to a vacation, especially with a baby but it all worked out in the end.  Come to find out the next day, there was a problem with the entire a/c unit for the building and had we not reported our unit the entire bldg would have lost a/c.  God does work in mysterious ways.  The rest of the trip went pretty smoothly.
Here are some of the MANY pictures we took:
This was the top of our condo, it was called the Sunset Deck.  It was beautiful...
We copied our friend Rachel with this picture.  She and her husband took a picture like this with their Noah.  It was so cute we had to have one.  Hannah Claire liked it about as much as Noah did.
Picture time with Daddy & Mommy.  Look how tropical & lush, gorgeous!

This is Jason, he works with me (Brandi).  He & Tiffany were at the beach.  Hannah Claire loves to see Jason.  He is so good with her.  I think we know who to call when we need a sitter.
This is our great friend JC.  She and her family arrived on Friday so we got to have dinner before we left to come home.  It was the first time JC has gotten to meet HC.  They hit it off great.
I love this picture.  We were having a nice talk before we went out to dinner.  It just doesn't get any better than that!
Daddy has his fun too.  She is completely a Daddy's girl.  It just makes my heart melt to see the way she looks at him.  Oh, and don't you just love that hat?  I'm not sure how big they make hats for babies but it was huge!!!  The outfit that it came with fits perfect.  Oh well, it worked for pictures.
This was later that night at dinner.  We were at Captain Dave's one of our favorite restaurants!  HC slept through most of dinner.  How can you blame her after a long day of sunning on the beach.
She and Daddy took a break from the sun and got some much need R&R.
This was a picture of HC's first visit to the pool.  She enjoyed it for a few minutes and then went to sleep (a true sign of just how much she loved it!).

This is my favorite family picture so far!  We are so blessed to have such a wonderful baby!!!
Here is her first trip down to the beach.  Don't you just love her umbrella.  Since you can't put sunscreen on 2 month olds we ordered this umbrella.  It hooks onto the stroller and adjusts to block the sun.  It is suppose to have SPF of 50+.  I questioned if I was getting suckered in by those things you think "I have to have that" and then never use, but we loved it!  It kept HC covered where her carseat cover didn't cover.  If  you are a new mom or know of one I highly recommend this.  Their website is www.shadybaby.com

My first time to put my feet in the sand.  Not so sure about it.
Daddy getting the sand off of me once we got back to our room.  Thanks to Cile we know the trick to getting sand off of your skin, baby powder.  It works great.  HC enjoyed it and playing with Daddy.

Two Months!

Wow how time flies. We reached our 2 month mark on the 9th. I wanted to wait to update the blog after our doctors appt. Everything went great. HC weighed in at 10lbs 8ozs. She is still average in her weight and above average in length and head circumference. She is 23ins long. She got her 1st round of vaccines, which was no fun to watch but we know is absolutely necessary and best for her in the long run. (I can't even watch a grown man that I don't even know get a shot so especially not my little girl.) She did great, didn't cry much and was her normal happy self that evening. Here are some new pictures:
Two months then her 1 month picture. Look how much I have grown!

Spending some QT with Daddy and Mommy.

Below: I love my changing pad.

I am such a good sleeper. I LOVE my new toy. I reach out and play with her. I even hold onto her hula skirt while I sleep.

Happy Independence Day

We hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We spent time with family and went to our church for a fireworks extravaganza. This was a picture of some of the fireworks.

Thanks to all of the troops fighting for our freedom. We are so thankful for the sacrifice you and your families are making.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Things have been a little crazy around here lately.  We celebrated Shane's birthday this weekend.  It was a fun weekend.  His parents, Mawmaw and Papa came for a visit.  They were so sweet to watch HC so Shane and I could have a date night.  We had dinner at Konomi and it was fabulous!  Shane is so sweet because our tradition is you get to choose what is for dinner the entire week of your birthday.  It is referred to as "The week of ....(enter name of the birthday person)".  Shane likes Japanese food but I LOVE it.  It is a close second for me to PF Changs.  My sweet husband picked this for our date night.  I might have played a small role in this selection.  It was great and his parents got to spend some time with HC.  All in all it was a great night.  We also celebrated with a delicious strawberry cake from Edgars.  If you have never had one I highly recommend it.
On Saturday night we had dinner with Law & Devers at Ezell's Fish Camp.  It was great and it was great to see some of Shane's friends.  They live across town so we don't get to see them too much.  The staff sang a snappy little song to Shane.  We loved it!  We also had dinner with Jon & Karen some of our great friends on Sunday night.  Shane selected Full Moon BBQ for this dinner.  It was outstanding as usual.  I did cook one night too.  Shane wanted enchiladas so that is what we had.  We are so thankful for Shane.  He is such a great husband and father.  We hope to have him around for many, many more years!

Now for some HC pictures:
Fun time with Mawmaw and Papa.
Not so sure about that bunny.
I think she is tired of having her picture taken.
I love that look.  This was the look we got when she woke up from a nap.  She is a fiesty little thing.
She is also lots of fun!  Look how happy.
HC & her Daddy before he went back to work last week.  That was a challenge but we are adjusting to life with the two of us during the day.  We are having fun, most days.
This picture is hilarious since she started out with her head on the pillow and then worked her way down.  It was a gradual thing and she kept wiggling until she got all the way down.
Sweet Isabella was singing the Itzy Bitzy Spider to HC.  HC was loving it!  She watched every move Bella made.
Patrick, Bella and HC hanging out on the porch.
Sharon and HC.  Sharon made us some homemade lasagna.  It was fabulous!  Thanks Sharon we love you guys.
